How're you all doing with this epidemic?

Things are not bad in Canada, yet, but schools, public spaces, and others are beginning to close and I think it's only a matter of days before I get instructed to work from home.  The Mrs. and I are in good shape to avoid stores for a few weeks if we need to.

Hopefully my mother-in-law can avoid the thing - she's got respiratory issues at the best of times.

Desertfox

I'm in the bay area but no issues so far. Everyone including my wife is working from home, except for my company (defense industry...). Traffic has never been better but there is no toilet paper to be found...

We just had our first case pop up from a cargo aircraft person. My boss is freaking out about whether we are ready to work from home (Im in IT).

Who cheer when solider lads march by
Sneak home and pray that you'll never know

No know cases in my direct enviroment.

But the measures imposed by the belgian gouvernment, are loose and late. So I expect to see a steep increase in ill people I know of this modern plague.

Phoenix (for them who don't know, we married around the time our involvement with Navalism waned, 2010) starts working at home starting tomorrow.
For me, I can suggest that I start fabricating the wire looms and sensors at home.

I do fear form my dad, who's not healthy (even relative young with 69).
And Babeths mum, she's doing her thing, being an old female Chuck Norris. Tough as old boots, still with 77 years on the counter, and a taste for strong sigarets and even stronger booze... (she does play WoT too)

In France, 5423 cases. 300 serious cases in hospital and 127 deaths.
Schools, restaurants, cinemas, theaters, non-food shops are closed, sports competitions canceled. Transport reduced to 75%. Gathering of more than 100 people prohibited.
General confinement is envisaged.
There are several cases in my city ...
I am 64 years old, I am asthmatic and worried ...

Jef,

You're right to be worried.
But unfortunatly, as in Belgium , those measures are too late. The thing is already going around.

But if Phoenix and me can do something to help, send a PM.

Thank you very much it is very nice.  ;)

We have anticipated and made some food reserves last week to go out as little as possible in the coming weeks.

Down with the Flu,thank god the freezer is filled, and plenty of Rice and Pasta. :-\ :-\

Flu is better than Corona Ledeper, get well.

There are no known cases in my rural area, which means the ones that are there just haven't been detected yet.
Local events are canceled.  The State Governor has put on restrictions.
I'm being careful about what I touch in public and keeping my distance.

This happens to be the week I was to be visiting elderly relatives in the American South. Today would have been touring New Orleans. Which is normally a very nice place to visit...lots of tourist shops though.

That trip got canceled.  I decided not to cancel my vacation.
Which is why I think I have time to try to wrap up the rule proposals.
That and start house projects.  Just came home with some lumber :)

I'm curious what they will do at work. I'm guessing just tell us to show up and then go out to the woods.
Guessing my upcoming meetings will be canceled.

Did the band play the last post and chorus,

Yesterday, we got the news that one of my coworkers wife is down with the bug.

Not happymaking.

That's unfortunate.
While hopefully that does not directly effect either of you,
unfortunately it will effect someone you know.

Mrs. Rock has a few things going on today but when we ran through the list of symptoms for COVID, flu, cold, and allergies, we couldn't rule anything out.  So we'll stay home and see what develops.

I've been put onto some Covid-related regulatory work for Health Canada.  It was interesting to listen to my minister speak about half an hour ago, as she didn't touch on any of this stuff at all.

I was in a store yesterday and intrigued to see how much canned fruit, veggies, soups and pastas, and how much frozen meals/pizzas, were on the shelves while areas like frozen veggies, fresh potatoes, bread and flour were totally wiped out.  Like, is nobody planning to eat a pizza or two while they're at home?

For me, life got a lot more interesting.  The big cheeses in France started "folding back to the roots".  The Belgian R&D department has closed down, some of us recieved the pink slip.  Me included.

Fun times to find another job.

Kaiser Kirk

Yikes - that's a drastic step.
One would assume that after this they will need their workers back.

Sorry to hear that burden got added to your life.
