Einstein was Jewish. In 1952 he was offered the presidenticy of Isreal. He was a Jewish activist his entire life, even though he was athist.

That being said I can find many reasons. For one New Zion (at least the coastal cities) is not a backwater and would have much to offer for young scientists. Also N-Verse Europe is much more Catholic than historical and there's a very high chance that Jews might have been expulsed from Bavaria and European Switzerland as they were historicly from Spain and other countries. Where would they go to? New Switzerland is the most Jew friendly country in the world, and from there New Zion would be a logical step.
