Got back from San Diego. Did  not have much free time, so I could only visit the Midway. There I could speak with two WWII veterans on board. The guy in the middle is yours truly. The guy to the left is a fighter ace - one of his last combat mission in WWII was the Turkey Shoot. The guy to the right served as a Seaman on the USS Marblehead in the Battle of the Makassar Strait ( the cruiser almost sunk). Served on various vessels, ranging from PT boats to the USS Missouri. At the end he attended some schools and became a commissioned officer and retired as a Captain.
