Why wasn't I told about the military power of Bharat?

Sorry governer, but it was all in the military reports of the last 2 decades.

Nice to see that French bureaucrats apparently have the same eye for detail as management at my office. :)

2 loads from France already delivered, and at least 1 merchant from the NUS is moving in.

OOC:
hmmm? I guess that was agreed with some previous player in charge of the NUS?...because I certainly didn't knew that I was sending artillery ammo there...

maddox

It was a deal with Samchle.  Glorious France did build Isla Malvinas (former Isla de Pascua) for the NUS , and the NUS will repay France in a HY shipment of munitions the worth of 1 BP and $1.

The last shipment should be HY02 1918.

RAM

OUCH...so I should make provisions for 1$ and 1 BP each HY until 1918?

that's some big stuff...damn, so big I must re-make all the HY reports I was about to post, and all my plans for future building...

Oh well...back to the "planning" board...

maddox

You could try for a diplomatical solution.

But at the time it was a "loan" to the NUS from France.

Sachmle

My bad. Forgot to warn you about that RAM, sorry.  :'(

End 1918. 2 years after the Great Bloodshed, life didn't return to normal in the French colony of Kolkata.

Bharat officials are everywere, taking notes, messuring buildings, roads ,bridges, dams, looking into papers, following French tax collectors and so on.

Governer Duré did make a great speech after the ceasefire of june 1916. But is was a bleak one. France could not defend the colony against the barbarian hordes of Bharat, but the valiant effort of the French soldiers did achieve the following.

1) The war stopped.
2) For the time being, untill Bharat meets the self imposed requirements, Kolkata stays French. At a minimum untill 1925.
3) As part of the cease fire, civilians have free rights of movement. A trickle of Bharati sponsored immigrants is entering Kolkata. About every European or muslim is emmigrating or is planning to, as well a lot of the untouchables, if they can get the resources. Bharat isn't known for tolerance. 4)Bharat, France and Italia came to an agreement. Italia pays Bharat and France for the rights to remove the damaged infrastructure.
France, nor the civilians in Kolkata are allowed to move riches or infrastructure without explicit approval of Bharat.

30km north of  Kolkata city.
A lovely lady is asking
Monsieur Achiel, why is that factory not working?

Aïda my dear, it's just Achiel, unless I'm wearing my uniform, then it's lieutenant Achiel. And only in public.

But that factory is not working because it was damaged during the war, and everything that made it worth to keep, was removed by the Italians.

Oh, that's almost 2 years ago, why are the trees still so small? And the grass so brownish? And that pond over there, normaly it would have been covered by water hyacint, this is just pretty with all the rainbows over the surface.

My love, it's a result of the corruption of heavy industry, such pollutes the earth and the waters, it gives man the means to live unbalanced with nature. But alas, that's my own view. Single eyed as it were.

You have 2 eyes. What do you see with 2 eyes?

You my love, and all the opportunities it means, all the sacrifices, all the love, all the taste, all the pain that life makes worth living.

Oh, Achiel, you surely know how to make a woman feel wanted.
