Yes it also struck me as strange at first, but if he offered them to me, then it's that he has developed them...well, I assumed so. If it's not the case, of course I'll have to re-evaluate the offers I received.

38cm guns is a far too big step ahead. For now the NUS' bigger guns fire 12'' shells. I'd rather go by incremental steps and build a 13.5'' ship before going that much up the gun caliber. Jumping up to 15 inch from 12 inch is a very sharp jump indeed.

At a later stage, who knows? I may go bigger :). But for now I think I'll stay with 13.5 inchers (or similar)

I think several people have those.

In the end it's 1911 tech.

The development of the French 380mm comes forth of the 1907  340mm L45 gun, as seen on the Napoleon the Great and the Valeurs.

Somebody has 15/45?
Borys
Yes, the Netherlands have 38/45s (since 1/1915).

The french 15/42 (40) got a fair bit lower power (about 86% as much as a L45)

OK, so there are a few 15"/45's around.
So, looks that I should get around to researching the 1911 level ...

Not so may around (yet), Think I and Rhoan is the only ones who got a 1911-level gun ready for service, Oranje went for 406mm guns and France can have one ready in 1916/2 at the earliest.

Press note released by the NUS foreign ministry.

"According to the data the Navy has received, the mounts offered by the ESC are triple 14''L40, which were developed in 1909 http://www.navalism.org/index.php?topic=1682.msg17723#msg17723.

The official request this ministry released some dates ago call for triple mount carrying 13.5''/L45 or L50 rifles. Seems that our specifications weren't clear enough, and we apologize for that. We will reinstate the request:

The NUS is asking for triple mounts with 13.5''/L45 or L50 guns. Caliber slightly higher or lower will be accepted for consideration.

We're reopening for a brief time the window for incoming offers. We're also reconsidering the other offers we already received. Shortly we will publish the winner of the contract.

We want to reinstate our apologies to the ESC, for we believe that our specifications could've been published in a more clear way. We're also sorry because we had to turn the deal down once we had, seemingly, agreed to award them the contract. I hope that the NUS and ESC can carry cooperation and fruitful relationships in the future."

Press note from the Foreign Ministry of the NUS.

"it is for our satisfaction that we announce the winner of the contract involving the constructin of the four turrets for the new NUS battleship, Independencia. Those turrets, four triples with 13.5''/L45 guns, will be finally built by the Republic of Orange and purchased by the NUS.

It is for our satisfaction, aswell, that after having to turn down the initial ESC offer of a triple 350mm/L40 turret, we have reached an agreement with them, to purchase the licence of their 300mm/L50 triple turret and associated guns, in exchange for blueprints and details on our current navy's anti-submarine technology.

We also want to extend our gratitude to all those nations who sent us an offer to compete for the contract. As we already mentioned in a previous press release, this timec they didnt' get a contract, but their attention and good will towards us won't be forgotten in the future."
