Subscriptions only work if the populace is agreeing with the government.

Otherwise it's just a tax increase, and that , in most cases, works the wrong way around.

Just allow a cash reserve for whatever - large purchases, catastrophes etc.

Borys

messy and complicated - all I'd like to see is a "war fund". Money (out of Military Budget) put away in peacetime to fund a war. Although  I admit the possibility of wartime use of Civilian $ for war makes this pretty much redundant.

Or, a half baked idea - for every 1$ taken out of the Civilian Budget, another $ is lost.
Eg. let us assume that the Habsburgs have 70$ Military and 70$ Civilian Budgets.
70+70 = 140.
But decide to add a further 10$ to the Military Budget - this results in 80 (70+10) +50 (70 - (10 +10) = 130.

Hello All!

Brought up by Ottoman report.

I like Rocks 'Bond' ideas and the 'national subscriptions'(end of page1).

I also liked Borys' idea(see last post) for small amounts of 'extra money' (military cost overruns?).

While I understand this is designed for small nations, I would like a chance to use it in small amounts.

My $0.02.
