The prospect of another negotiating session does not appeal to me, but another war is even less enticing.

Can we make an effort to resolve this new problem before there's any shooting?

Well the thread is locked so thats going to be hard in part...

As to talking thats up to the other side...

I do have one thought before I go to bed, the best bet is 3rd party action / attempt at mediation; not that we have had much luck with it so far but its the only thing I can think of.

My only concern is that this is an IC war because of OOC problems. Must remember to keep two seperate. Just my opinion.

No this is totally IC...

As to OCC I don't know for sure whats going on with Korpen, I have stated what I think it looked like.  If I am wrong, I would be the first to say sorry.  As I have said this is a game its not worth heart burn of something I and others do to relax.

As to OOC I have been informed that my Declaration of War has been negated, I strongly disagree with this action as I have ample in character cause for war.  If this is the moderates call then thats the call but I do not like it and I must suggest for them to consider if this action is in the interest of the game.  IE there was clear build up over a period of months in game that lead to this, from what I saw its the type of thing you want to encourage, it wasn't a random act to have a war for the sake of having a war.  As I said I will respect the ruling....

Thank you for not making a scene about it. We appreciate the attitude. It eliminates a big sink and a big boom.

Okay - so, officially, no crisis after all?  The world's at peace, we can move on, etc?

miketr

So it would appear, instead the way things will stop at the break off of diplomatic relations between Iberia and the Netherlands.

Resorting to standard diplomatic tactics rather than the more hot heated or nationalistic declaration of war over lands that are very far away from their homelands.  With a general reduction in local hostilities, perhaps the Dutch will see to it that the majority of the problems will be lifted (seeing as there is no actual war between the Swiss and Allies (officially) after August 9, 1908, with a cease fire being called for 12 days before that.  Some units may not hear the call for the cease fire or peace for a month or so, by by September 15 all forces, even on the little islands and raiders should be informed of the end of the conflict.
