As D&D alignment system is basically a crap and useless overall, if we want to categorize nations, I propose the following alignment system, based on a Hungarian RPG.


Order/Law vs. Freedom
Life vs. Death (whether individual life is valued or considered expendable)
Dependability/honor vs. Adventurism/Realpolitik
Some might not get any preference. E.g. Order, Life and Life, Order  - they also have different priorities.

A Prussian state would be pure Order.
China would be Order, Dependability, Death
NS would be Freedom, Adventurism
Gran Columbia - Adventurism, Death, Order
France: Order, life (being a welfare state counts)
Orange: Freedom, Death, Dependability
(Self-perception would have Honor at the first or second place, but Portugal and Austria might not agree with that. Death is there due to racial policies)
DKB: Order, Adventurism
Rohan: Order, Life, Dependability

Dependability, Order, Life - self perception :)

Iberia

Order with some movement towards Freedom
Honor with a strong dash of Realpolitik

I would add a dash of honor and life to NS.

Despite propaganda to the contrary NS has not and will not break treaties it has signed and there is the 'Live to Fight Another Day'  order.

Patented in fact. Sir Robin is a Swiss citizen, unfortunately no one has been able to see his face since the war started, and he's been able to avoid all attempts to draft him.

Agree that Gran Colombia trends towards order versus freedom, and has low lack of respect for individual lives (though I'd not call that "Death" per se).

Honor/loyality vs. adventurism/realpolitik is trickier - Gran Colombia tries to ensure that there is a veneer of legality on all of its acquisitions, so as to discourage shouting/shooting matches.

That won't work as the person in question has to be (as described in the Ballad of Brave Sir Robin) a male... but no doubt that the Swiss are able to prove that Shilling is actually a man. :D

The DKB would say they're Order, Life, Honour, with broken treaties/alliances being due to bad faith on the other party's part first. Oh look, yeah, the other party was the Swiss, saying that was redundant! :P
