We are proud to present our annual survey of the World's economies. Unfortunatly we again find ourselves lacking data this year for a number of smaller countries, however the number of countries in this condition is at an all-time low.

The BBW World Economic Index is calculated by taking the estimated annual Governmental budget of the various nations, and is given in Deutschmarks.

Rocky - thanks for working that out. :)

Now if there was some way to combine/factor the two to get an overall ranking (dividing the first by the second didn't work out too well.)...

The Rock Doctor

Dividing IC by BP will give you a sense of how important heavy industry is to your economy.

Given that IC costs $75, and BP is $300, how about (IC/4) + BP for overall economic strength, or divide that by population to give per capita?

"The de Soto Index" of Industrial Power

The terms:

IC = IC
IP = Millions of people with a corresponding IC
P = Millions of people without a corresponding IC
BP = BP

The Formula which gives the "de Soto" number is:  IC + IP + P/5 + BP*4.  In other words, it's your semi-annual budget plus (BP * 4)

France:  377
Middle Kingdom:  348

Rohan:  254
United Norman Kingdom:  235
Gran Colombia:  223
Baltic Confederation:  218

Orange:  204
DKB:  193
CSA:  188
Russia:  188

NS:  176
Netherlands:  174
Hapsburgs:  173

Ottomania:  147
Iberia:  137
Japan:  129
Italia:  113
Ukraine:  110

Edited to reflect Korpen's comments below.

So the DKB has the
8th largest budget
12th largest steel production
6th largest population

...and comes out 9th in DSI.

I must say the population was the second most surprising figure. The most surprising was having a higher DSI score than Russia (!).

Borys

Ahoj!
And now, people, tell me why do I feel PSI ....
:)

PSI = POOR, SMALL, INSIGNIFCANT

Why does everyone fear NS so much? I mean:

9th largest budget
11th largest steel production
16th largest population
12th Overall

Only in land area does NS stand out (2nd) but thats due to a bunch of Ice Up North and a bunch of Deserts Down Under.

QuoteWhy does everyone fear NS so much?

The Swiss are viewed in Gran Colombia as loose cannons, prone to going off at unexpected times for unexpected reasons.

Carthaginian

'Loose cannons' probably wouldn't be the Confederate way of discribing them- more like 'combination magazine/smoking room.' You know they are gonna blow- just not how long you get to enjoy the atmosphere.
So 'ere's to you, Fuzzy-Wuzzy, at your 'ome in old Baghdad;
You're a pore benighted 'eathen but a first-class fightin' man;
We gives you your certificate, an' if you want it signed
We'll come an' 'ave a romp with you whenever you're inclined.
