January 1st, Secret NSN Headquarters

"How goes Black Eagle?"

"The Hochseeflotte has been decisively crushed. They took the bait at Rabaul and they lost. If Tasman Tiger, Albatross, and Night Hawk go as planned the Hochseeflotte will be finished as a fighting force."

"What about their new aquisitions?"

"Won't be combat ready for some time. We have two plans ready, Night Hawk II and Penguin Dance."

"Thinking about taking them out in the Atlantic?"

"That's one of the plans, but we still consider Night Hawk II, the better plan."

"What about the Afrikka Flotte?"

"African Lion will start shortly, and at the conclusion of Albatross, those ships will be sent to clear the remaining German ships."

"How about the others?"

"Plans are underway, both the Austrian and Dutch fleets won't last long. We have reliable intelligence reports from the Dutch reporting at least 2 Battleships sunk or damaged."

"Well Admiral what about Japan?"

"Japan? It would be a folly for Japan to declare war. They are divided internally and have the Bear at their back."

"But will Russia intervene?"

"If NS is out of the picture, where else will Japan turn their sight too? Have you seen their 3rd point in the Great Concilium?

Quote3.   Do not enter the Great Pasific War and do not support Powers, which are fighting there. But negotiate with the potential members of the conflict and do not allow new member enter there.

Russia is worried and with just cause. If Tsushima happens again... Right now Japan can not act against Russia without keeping an eye on NS, but if NS were to fall, they can act in concert with MK with their full strength against Russia."

"But are you sure about Russia?"

"No, and so we have other plans. Economiclly Japan is weak and a war might just drive them into bankruptcy. Also Japan must import most of their food and NS sits astride their supply lines. If neccesary we can cut those lines with impunity. MK cannot supply Japan, it can barely supply it's own population."

"So can we beat Japan on top of the other countries?"

"If our 3 main ops go as planned we will be fighting from a position of strength. Yes we can beat Japan if it is dumb enough to fight."

To be continued...

I assume that Those Demons are sending messages to Russia about such nonsense in order to make them paranoid?
Also, I found the second part of that line very confusing at first because I didn't know anything about Japan having a Great Concilium and wondered where you got that nonsense. After reading it a couple of times, I realized you were referring to Russia with the word "Their".
Guess I'm getting old...  :-\
QuoteAlso Japan must import most of their food and NS sits astride their supply lines.
Yes, I guess Japan would have to import some food, but as I see it, NS does not sit astride Japanese supply lines (*) as (almost) everything would be coming from the Asian main land and transported from Korea, Manchuria and Primorsk across the water to Japan. It is much, much quicker to move any Eurasia goods to those three areas and ship them to Japan then to take the boat and take a long and dangerous seatrip. There is no NS controlled territory along Japan's three main supply routes.

(*) There are probably a few minor supply lines toward the east and south, but due to the great distances involved, they are really minor.

Desertfox

OOC Food from Asia? I can only see two suppliers, one is Russia but I strongly doubt they are going to use their only connection to the Pacific to sell food to the Japanese especially after 1905. As for China, the MK is hard pressed just trying to feed its own huge population, and the situation there won't be improving, courtesy of Zeppelin salination, and NS buying Siam's entire rice crop.

The main food sources for Japan are:
- Korea
- Manchuria
- the Ocean.

It worked during WWI and WWII, and there's nothing to suggest it won't work in N-verse. All domestic, no need for foreign imports.

Quote- the Ocean.
Ah yes. I can see it now. The Swiss torpedoing fish to prevent Japan from getting their food from there.
Actually, I think they're evil enough to do exactly that...

Desertfox

Actually it didn't work in WWII. Had WWII lasted just a few months longer massive starvation would have struck Japan. Also food production from Manchuria might be needed for the MK.

Torpedoing fishes? Why didn't you tell me earlier? *Goes of to develop DCs*

Actually, the massive starvation would have been caused by the lack of merchant marine to transport foodstuff from Korea to Japan, not that of foodstuff itself.

Perhaps you might remember that in Wesworld there were those 17.7mm torpedoes which is why I mentioned torpedoing the fish. :D

(For those who don't visit Wesworld, it was actually an error by the person who made the sim of that ship as he accidentally used metric instead imperial for the torpedoes, so instead of 17.7" torpedoes, he ended up with 17.7mm torpedoes)

swamphen

And don't forget the photon torpedoes!  :D

The appearance of "0.0-inch" torpedo tubes in certain Spring* reports resulted in their being declared said weapon...although given the nation involved, perhaps they were Drone Weapons instead.

Swerving back to some semblance of on-topic...

Japan also has eastern Siberia here, so there's no shortage of reindeer meat to be had.  ;D  And there will be those who like lichen...

Actually, the massive starvation would have been caused by the lack of merchant marine to transport foodstuff from Korea to Japan, not that of foodstuff itself.

...which was a result of the submarines. How many subs has NS? Of those how many can they get into the Sea of Japan? And of those how effective will they be? etc., etc., etc... Japan has its vital SLOC on what are essentially internal waters.
The Swiss, on the other hand...

The Russo-Japanese relations according to the Relation Table of the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Empire is 6 of 10 points. It means that Russia have economical relations with Japan and there is no treat of war.

Desertfox

Ill leave the above as outdated information on the HQ part.

"What about Agrival? Do you beleive the Rohan reports?"

"I don't know, Agrival has cheated death too many times, but the Rohan tend to be reliable. I think this time Agrival has used up his nine lives."

"So we can remove that threat?"

"No, there was no mention of the Admiralte Grau or his family, and more worrisome are spy reports from Peru reporting on Grau's new commander, a woman..."

"His wife?"

"Could be and some say th at she was the mastermind behind his crimes."

"Plan?"

"We are still need some more information*,  but we might be able to divert ships from Albatross for a strike."

*OOC Any idea on Peru's fleet?

The Rock Doctor

What little info I have on Peru suggests that their fleet is about similar in overall size to that of the Hapsburgers.  I have no specifics.

Curious that your spies noticed the change in command but not ownership.
