In a "What if" David ask to a rebuilt of the BB Strasbourg in USA (Remember Richelieu)

The question is about the T2x130 & T4 x130.

I suggested replacing them with T2x127s.

I think it's mechanically possible(?)

I would agree.   127s should easily be doable for 130s.

The Strasbourg DP mount weights are fairly high, with the quad being termed a turret,
I'm guessing they may have been 'semi-stalked' like the Brit 5.25 or actually turrets with power training gear.
In either case there would be a substantial supporting structure for that weight.

So my guess if you could build a collar for the top of that structure and place the US ring mount on top,
retrofitting the USN Hoist arrangement down the 130mm trunk.
The heaviest USN mount is ~54tons, while the twin DP 130mm is 80tons.

Electrical power might be lacking, but could be arranged.
Did they beat the drum slowly,
Did they play the fife lowly,
Did they sound the death march, as they lowered you down,
Did the band play the last post and chorus,
Did the pipes play the flowers of the forest
