The rumors circulating the capital about a possible shake-up in army command have finally been confirmed.  In addition to the retirement of newly promoted Marshal Enrico Rosa, the army will be undergoing a transformation.  By the end of 1903 the army will have completed its transformation from the current division system to the new demi-corps system.  By 1 January 1904 the Brazilian Army will have completed its transformation into the new system, with 2 Guards demi-corps, 9 regular army demi-corps, and 16 militia demi-corps.  The Defense Minister assures the public that the military capabilities of the army will not be diminished despite going from a total of 42 divisions to a total of 21 demi-corps.

OOC Explanation: A Brazilian "Division" is the equivalent of 1/4 of an army corps.  The new "Demi-Corps" are the equivalent of 1/2 an army corps.
