Why is the time wrong?

Did anyone else have to correct his time setting in the profile today?
I'm asking this, because it certainly wasn't the first time I had to do that.  And i can't understand why either. I mean the reference should be GMT (all Unix/Linux clocks - and therefore most servers - use it) and if I set it to certain offset to that I shouldn't have to change anything except to correct for summertime. Plus it's annoying, I can never really find that setting.

The US just switched out of Daylight Savings Time.  Maybe thats why?

Sorry I missed this, my crappy excuse was I was in the middle of moving....

If you go to Profile->Modify Profile->Look and Layout you can adjust what time you see.

The webhost keeps the time on the server in local time (Mountain time in the US to be exact). This is annoying, as the time on the server changes twice a year. If they kept local time in UTC, the problem would be somewhat more uniformly predictable at least.

I didn't know the US used a different date to switch from/to summertime (or daylight saving). I was of the impression that that was unified a couple years ago.
I also thought servers used GMT (as linux/unix does).
Anyway that explains why I have to change the time 4 times a year. Could be worse.

Ah, see, you've discounted the US Congress's capability for screwing with things that don't need fixing, while ignoring things that do.
