Message receive from our Attaché Naval in Italia

"Pour Monsieur le Ministre de la Marine, Jean-Marie Lanessan"

Exellence, it has become rather obvious at this point that Italia is laying down 3 Battleships certainly over 13000 in excess of 500 ft long. "

Comments from the Ministre to his personnal secretary.

-Those 3 hulls are probably 21kts, Italians love speed but not big guns.
If I remember well, we have studying a 21kts project but the displacement was nearly 15 000t with 3T2x305.

-Exact, Monsieur le Ministre
Our 21kts battleships project was 14.800t with 3T2x305.

-With a hull of 13 000t, Italian couldnt have 305mm turrets or they have light armour.

-Monsieur le Ministre, we have laid down 4 x 13.800t Battleships with 3T2x305 but 18kts & 4 x12.000t Armored Cruisers with 2T2x274 & 21kts.

-Yes, our "Corps de Bataille" will count 12 battleships with a speed of 18kts & 12 Armored Cruisers with a 21kts speed.

- A homogenous fleet, Monsieur le Ministre.

- Yes, I think we have little to fear from these Italians...

Merci Monsieur le Secrétaire
