FORTIFICATIONS
Where two costs are quoted, the first is Baseline, the Second is Advanced. This also refers to the level of infantry technology needed for the construction.

Fortresses
Fortresses come in three levels, each holding one corps as a garrison. Fortresses can also hold one additional corps, but that corps would not get any special bonuses.
The fortress have the Artillery rating of three times the corresponding level Infantry corps.
Each level of Fortress costs 1.5/2.25BP $16/20 and takes 3 years to build.
The upkeep of a fortress is represented by the upkeep of the garrison corps. In wartime it's upkeep is doubled as normal. A Fortress has a stockpile of Supplies (including Artillery ammunition) for 6 months of Siege.

Other combat bonuses are at Moderators' discretion.

Foritifed Lines
36 km in flat terrain OR 50 km in mountains - cost 1/1.5BP and $16/20, each section takes 3 years to build. Sections can be combined into longer lines.

The upkeep of a fortified line is represented by the upkeep of the garrison corps. In wartime it's upkeep is doubled as normal. A Fortress has a stockpile of Supplies (including Artillery ammunition) for 6 months of Siege.
Each 35/50km stretch of Fortified Lines comes with a static, Infantry Corps to garrison it. It may be garrisoned by a Reserve Corps, with no loss of capability, but the Player runs the danger of the Line being overrun before manned. In wartime it's upkeep increases as normal.  A Fortified Line Section has a stockpile of Artillery ammunition for 6 months Intensive Fighting. Artillery rating of the garrison Infantry Corps is doubled. Other combat bonuses are at Moderators' discretion.

A Garrison Corps can leave the Fortress or Fortification line, but as most of its artillery are fixed, it counts as a Dated light infantry (Rating 3 Artillery 0.5).

Colonial forts
For 1$ a corps stationed in the colonies can fortify its outposts. It gives them a Bonus of +3 versus Primitive, and a Bonus of +1 versus Dated troops. It is ignored by Baseline or better troops.

Coastal defences
5 inch or higher calibre guns installed as Coastal Defence are to be Springsharped as gun, Turret and Barbette ONLY, with 0 freeboard. Double the BP cost to account for the seel going into the barbette/magazine, and installation cost would be equal to the cost of the turret. For upkeep, they are treated like naval units, based on the cost of the turret.
E.g. a 12" twin turret with 12" face and 8" side/top armor has a weight of 216t(guns)+181t(armor)=397t.
To build this turret, 0.4BP and $0.40 is needed. To install this turret (or a similar turret taken from an old battleship), you need another 0.4BP and $0.40.
Upkeep is paid based on the price of $0.40.

Trenchlines
Trenchlines and smaller field fortifications are built automatically by troops on the defensive.
