The Middle Kingdom and New Switzerland rattling sabres, the glorious Reich being allied to the latter and having a non-agression pact with the former, who does our nation support? According to an anynomous Foreign Ministry officer, the answer at least for this period is nether or both, depending on your view. "We will provide diplomatic offices to either party to attempt to resolve the dispute. Should it cause conflict, we do not believe it will become necessitated to enter the conflict, at least as we understand these issues."

As the government appears to declare neutrality, Colonel Hammer of the Legion Kondor is asked, will his fabled mercenary force particpiate in any battle? The answer is "no comment".

12 October

A tragedy for our country? It appears that the dread pestilence spreading throughout the Middle Kingdom may have entered the Reich as a die-off of domestic fowl has occured in Neue Hamburg.

Dipl-Ing Ralf von Zinobop of the Wissenstab was addressed by this paper and cautions that it appears the disease is difficultly spread between persons, the best way to become infected is to have continued contact with diseased fowl. Advises that any birds that become ill should be shot, burned and buried, and any contact with their carcasses or fluids should be avoided.

Dar-es-Salaam Times

A new rail line for our colony as ground was broken on a route from Mbeya to Songea. Reportedly the officals of the E-bahn continue to desire a route south through the Malawi chieftainate to Pretoria but continue to be rebuffed by the strongman of the area.

8 November

As the dissolution of the ACM continues, the Kreigsmarine has ordered that any vessels encountered flying the flag of the moribund entity are to be stopped on sight. Any that attempt flight upon ordered to heave to are to be sunk with extreme prejustice.

12 November

The DKB has a new overseas territory. The ex-ACM colony at Goa in the Indian continent has been purchased from New Switzerland.

The kleiner kreuzer Niobe has been despatched to the area to maintain order until the official hand-over which is scheduled for 1 January.

(ooc: price 2 HBP, paid Q2 and Q3/00, plus all 1901 MBP from the colony to New Switzerland. ex-ACM "garrison" troops and the coastal battleship of the colony are included in the deal...)

29 November

Our troops have occupied the former ACM coaling colony at Easter Island. Officially there has been silence as to what has or has not been discovered there. There have been some noises from the USA embassy regarding the matter and our Foreign Ministry has been seen to be conducting business there.

18 December

The Foreign Ministry today declared that it has concluded an agreement with the Union del Sur-America over Easter Island.

The USA has agreed to lease the ex-ACM island to the Reich for a period of 99 years, while the DKB has agreed to a non-agression agreement for an unspecified period of time. Mutual trade has also been addressed.
