Dutch mediators talking in private.
- So it looks like the talks will be pretty much a open-and-shut case?
- Indeed, both the RRC and Burma pretty much agreed on the first draft, there were only some minute changes done to it.
- Hm let me see it.
Quote
1: The Kingdom of Burma recognise the borders and sovereignty of the Reformist Republic of China
2: Reformist Republic of China recognises and guarantees the borders and sovereignty of the Reformist Kingdom of Burma
3: All foreign forces are to leave the sovereign territory of the Kingdom of Burma within two months.
4: The Reformist Republic of China will pay damages to Burmese citizens for any damage caused by these recent misunderstandings.
5: The Kingdome of Burma will pay damages to Chinese citizens for any damage caused by these recent misunderstandings.
6: The Reformist Republic of China and the Kingdom of Burma undertake to jointly construct a Mandalay-Kumming railroad to further trade, understanding and cooperation in the future.
7: The Kingdom of Burma guranatees the Reformist Republic of China the option to invest in Burma on terms at least as favourable as any other power.
8: The two powers will open their ports and markets to each others good and produce without inhibition.
9: The Kingdom of Burma will guarantee the right and privileges of its native Chinese traders and merchants.
- Looks good, so we will ask the two powers to make some opening statement, and then proceed to signing as soon as possible before other powers that want to elbow in try and get their own pet projects included.

Where are we at here?  It was my understanding that deals had been struck.  Also I have heard rumors of other nations making moves in the fall.  My own stuff which I have typed up and ready to post is waitng for the RRC - Burma deal to be made public and approved or for the war to occur and we deal with that.

I am unsure where we are at as well? Was the deal not completed or do we have yet to make it public?

The Rock Doctor

Korpen's post above seems to be the closest thing we have to public disclosure.  It would be good to have this wrapped up, so if everybody involved believes the deals are done, feel free to post something in the "Treaties" forum.

Korpen

Deals are complete.
What I would like is some opening/closing comments from the main parties, the RRC in particular.

Opening Statement from the RRC:
Recently there has been an misunderstanding between the Reformist Republic of China and Burma. This is most unfortunate. When we first received news of the tragedy at our borders, we rushed without checking to subdue the supposed cause. It has been proven that we were incorrect in our assumption and to this we apologize. Even we are prone to overreaction and foolish moves, we are only human. In engaging in this diplomatic and peaceful resolution we express our hopes that the rest of the world might be able to do the same and solve its problems peacefully.

We welcome words of peace from the Chinese, and of course will be happy to see this conflict concluded. We hope that all nations will continue to recognize the Sovereignty of Burma.

(or something to that effect)

The Rock Doctor

Has there been an understanding concluded between RRC and Iberia?

miketr

It was my understanding thats the case.

The Rock Doctor

Could I ask that it be posted officially?  I can then rescind my declaration of war against RRC...

miketr

Quote1: The Empire of Iberia and the Reformist Republic of China will cease the armed conflict and restore economic and diplomatic relations to the 1915 status.
2: The Empire of Iberia recognises sovereignty and all the current borders of the Reformist Republic of China.
3:  Reformist Republic of China recognises sovereignty and all the borders of The Empire of Iberia.

If logi can just say these are good we can move it to the treaty forum and war is off.

Logi

The terms are good. And the war is off ;)
