Theocro the Third, King of the Riddermark

Theocro has been king since his father's death in 1874.  But before that he rode with the elite forces of the Riddermark as Captain of the Grey Company.  Riding with a mask thoughout the Lands of the East and South, Theocro was given a name by the Cheyenne "Masked One who Rides the Eagle" due to his lightning fast strikes and his horse's nack for avoiding danger when many others around him fell.  Young Theocro fought in the various Plains Wars in the late 1860s and early 1870s between the Peoples of Haven, the United Tribes of Turtle Island, the United Kingdom of America, and The Confederate States of America.  While Rohan never went to war in full during these wars, some of its forces were either loaned or "on leave for the duration" to the Native tribes.  The Grey Company was by far the most elite of units from Rohan, and the "dime" novels based on their exploits have been sold far and wide.

Since becoming King of Rohan, Theocro has attempted to rule with a fair hand to all those under his Kingdom's banner or protection.  Minor disputes with the Eastern Kingdom over fishing rights have been smoothed over save for the occational pirate group or native dispute.  Relations with California have improved to the point where Rohan has begun to supply them with weapons to defend themselves with instead of relying on foreign support for all things.  The Haven of the People sometimes causes problems, as do a few of the more nomadic tribes on the Great Plains, but Rohan has stated that they will not interfere in tribal affairs unless the tribes actions cause harmful retaliations into Rohan or another allied nation.  Relations with the Confederate States of America have improved, mainly due to their common enemy, the Anahuac Empire.

Theocro missed the Mosquito War of 1870 because of his travels with the Grey Company, but the effects of adding in the freed section of New Beleriand has had a lasting effect on his reign.  With the almost constant trading of barbs between Rohan and the Anahauc, Theocro is surprised Rohan is not at war with them still over New Beleriand.  France, Spain, and the United Kingdom of America are a different problem for Theocro.  France mainly for its support of the Anahuac in ages past.  Spain for its ages old intrution into Turtle Island have caused Rohan nothing but problems since 1520 of the Sixth Age.  The UKA however....they are the ones that actively try to push Rohan's buttons.  Be it minor attacks on the Blackfeet, or infecting the Teton with chicken pox, the UKA seems to want to push what they consider "heathens" out of what they consider theirs by Manifest Destiny.  The saving grace of the Confederacy is that they managed to go "coast to coast" intruding on Anahuac and former Spanish territories.

Theocro (Wynson) was born in the year 1848 of the Sixth Age.

Theocro wed Lady Areen of Isengard in 1870 and have five children

Lord Eorl (Wynson) of Snowbourn

First son and heir to Theocro King.  Marshal of the Army of the North and First Marshal of the Mark. (Formerly Marshal of all the Reserves of Rohan.  Wounded in 1896 stopping a raid by UKA gunslingers on the frontier, the son of Theocro King was placed in charge of reserve units that handle internal problems between nations and sometimes border patrol.  While respectful of his injury, Eorl would have rather been named Third Marshal of the Mark over the Army of Rohan and be leading his countries forces in the war with the enemy.  He has proven himself to be a capable leader and soldier and has been spending this time learning what his can to prepare himself to be king of Rohan after hs father leaves this world.  He's said he can wait, and would actually like to not ever actually be king, because to be king, his father has to die.  This is something he knows he will have to bare on day, but hope that it will be when he is far older.

Eorl married Lady Running Spirit Denetheorl of Snowbourn in 1894 and they have three children.

Eorl was born in the year 1872 of the Sixth Age.

Lord Franklin W. Harlock of Mithlond

(Drawing of Lord Harlock shortly after taking command of the Eldacar early in 1895)

Lord Harlock has been in the Fleet of the Mark since 1887.  His rise to become one of the top cruiser commanders at the age of 29 is considered extrodinary.  That he has been a cruiser commander since age 26 is even more so.  But they say positions has its advantages.  Being Lord of Mithlond granted young Franklin relatively easy access to the Officer Training Program, but his own skills and tactical abilities are what have launched him into such a rapid rise in rank and placement.  Lord Harlock was given command of the Combat Cruiser Eldacar shortly after is was commissioned.  While he has been attempting to gain the command of his wife's creation, the Orodruin, it is suspected that he will receive command of the next generation of cruiser....once its shape and purpose have been decided.

Lord Harlock is known to be an excellent shot, both with a firearm and with his trained crew's nine inch guns.  His friend, and brother-in-law, is said to be an excellent swordsman, but near-sighted and unable to hit much with a handgun.  Harlock himself is considered a rebel by many of his peers, and tends to travel as a lone hunter or pirate at sea.  This has left him the master of Rohan's anti-raider and privateering forces.

Lord Harlock was born in Mithlond in the year 1869 of the Sixth Age.  His father died while Harlock was young, and young Franklin adopted the title of "Lord of Mithlond" at age 13.  He met his friend while wondering the Great Plains before joining the navy.  He briefly left the service to help his friend find is sister in 1890-1891.  Lord Harlock married Ms. Oyama in 1893 after a period of courtship.  His friend's whereabouts is unknown at this time, having wondered off, with a tall blonde woman he and Lord Harlock encountered in 1890, only a few years ago.

Lady Shizuku Oyama of Mithlond

(A drawing of young Shizuku without her glasses in 1890)

A brilliant engineer that, dispite being a woman, has managed to become accepted by the Rohirrim Design Board.  She is credited as the designer of the belted cruiser Orodruin, and is currently working on making an even faster and more heavily armed design.

Her family comes from the Eastern Kingdom, and her brother is renown as a master swordsman.  She has maintained her old family name, dispite being married to Lord Franklin W. Harlock of Mithlond.

The Lady was born in the year 1872 of the Sixth Age.

Tochiro Oyama, Master Swordman

(Sketchy drawing of Mr. Oyama)

Older brother of Lady Shizuku Oyama of Mithlond, and friend of Lord Harlock.  Tochiro Oyama is something of a mystery in Rohan.  He is known to be from the Eastern Kingdom and a master sword fighter.  He is very short, bow legged, and wears spectacles.  However, according to Lord Harlock, he is the best friend one could ever hope to have.  It is rumored he learned a great deal about engineering from his sister between 1891 and 1896 of the Sixth Age.

Tochiro dissapeared during the year 1896 of the Sixth Age.  He was last seen heading into the Great Desert south of Rohan with a tall blond haired lady going by the name of Shinunora.  The Peoples of the Haven have not seen him since later that year, and Lady Oyama has not pressed the matter, trusting in her brother.

Tochiro Oyama was found to be a leader in the resistance movement against the forces of the Eye until the end of the War for New Beleriand in 1900.  He joined up with Lord Harlock in October of that year.

Tochiro Oyama was born in the year 1869 of the Sixth Age.

Shinunora Oyama, former German Nobility?

(Sketch of Shinunora from 1891)

Most of this woman's past in a mystery in Rohan.  Even her birth name is not known to very many people.  What little is known is that she was born a noble.  Some think she is Duchess of Baden, but she has never confirmed this.  Her lack of a german accent attests that if she is a german noble, she left home at a fairly young age.  She is known to be an excellent shot with a repeating carbine.

The first mention of her name was in 1890, though by the experiances of Lord Harlock, she'd been in the country for a few years before that, and perhaps even farther south and east of Rohan.  She became the traveling companion of Lord Harlock and Tochiro Oyama during their quest to find the missing Shizuku Oyama.  After the rescue of Shizuku by Lord Harlock, Shinunora became taken with the short but skilled swordsman, Tochiro Oyama.  They were reportedly wed someplace in either the Haven or California in 1894.

She was last seen in the company of Tochiro Oyama in the year 1896 of the Sixth Age.  She was later found to be a leader in the resistance movement against the forces of the Eye until the end of the War for New Beleriand in 1900.  She joined up again with Lord Harlock in October of that year.

Shinunora's age is unknown, though she appears to be a woman in her 20s.  Her assumed year of birth is 1870 of the Sixth Age.
