Note: This is the first of a formal series of design contests the mods will be putting on for various minor nations. This is to give a better idea of the capabilities of some of these nations without doing full on sim reports for them. Also meant to be fun for you guys as well. Don't feel bound to the restrictions if you feel you can do better. Creative sales pitches encouraged! The thread will remain pinned until the winner is chosen.
Brazil is placing a general tender for a class of three battleships from the shipyards of the major naval nations. The Brazilian Navy is looking for designs that have a broadside of at least six large caliber guns, a speed of at least 19knts, and armor sufficient to stop rounds from common armored cruiser weapons. Brazil is willing to pay $27.60 over two years for each ship. The payment includes the cost of construction and materials. The tender also notes that whoever wins this order will get preference for possible future orders. The order would formally be placed during the later half of 1904, and designs will be accepted up until that point.
The Dutch submit for consideration AF-1904-4X2T, this is a fully modern design in every respect and is fully capable of meeting or exceeding every respect of the proposed contract.

The lowest beam on a period T2 12" that I've come across is the 1899
Petropavlovsk at 70ft, and she must have had a BC about .58. You're talking about 3 big holes in the hull girder, a slightly smaller beam, and a slighter bc- so even less beam where the turrets actually are. I admit to pushing things in my Italian ships, but I'm of the opinion this ship pushes to many elements .
Of course if you can come up with an example, great, my ships can get more svelte :) But ships like the 1886
Colossus which had T2 12" and a 68ft beam...they were Cole style turrets and square amidships where the beam's broadest, and I bet the BC was higher.
Tried to completely redo the design but keep the guns and armor.
