Title: Dammit, I'm old.
Post by: Guinness on May 22, 2010, 07:48:47 PM
It's been 30 years since the release of the Empire Strikes Back, the first Start Wars movie I remember seeing in a theater as a kid (at the old incarnation of the movie theater at Phipps Plaza, which is a mall in Atlanta, for anyone keeping track).

Add this to the fact I'm now driving a minivan, and I'll soon be yelling at you young people to get off my lawn!  ;)

Man, wanna trade? I have seen  Episode IV,  A New Hope in the local theater. And I drive a micro SUV.

But if you're reflecting your newborn, and your birthday....  congrats on both again....

Likewise, though I was only five at the time.

Do something that makes you feel young.  I just spent a few minutes vaulting fences and running across pastures, in pursuit of a fox.  It confirmed that I'm not as old as I could be.

I'm from '80. And I feel terribly old whenever I see a place advertising "20 years, since 198(late number)" or (worse) "...since 1990", and I go, "but, that can't be, it hasn't been long enough...oh dear, it has...nrrraaarghhh, kiiiiids thhhheeeseeee dayyyyysss..."

Meh... you are only as old as you feel. Me, I'm about 75 when I wake up, pass the century mark just after the morning QA meeting, and turn 25 when I get home and have the first Jack & Coke.

Wake, rinse, repeat.
