Built in New Beleriand, this cruiser is not quite a protected cruiser and not quite an armored cruiser. A "belted" cruiser, this vessel used a new 7.5 inch cannon instead of the 9 inch originally requested for this design. The reduction of gun size allowed for a larger powerplant and a huge increase in speed over the typical Rohirrim cruisers and battleships. With its increadible speed and range, this vessel will be able to either hunt raiders, or be a raider. It is not known yet if more of this type of vessel will be constructed. Most think there will be as soon as the production ability of the nation allows for such construction.

Learning from the mishap with the Orodruin during the war, Ms. Oyama of Mithlond Yards has released plans for her successor design, the Starkhorn, Belted Cruiser of the Mark of 1902. With a new turbine engine that will hopefully be ready when needed, and the new practice of superimposing turrets on what is effectively a "light" armored cruiser, this long ranged cruiser will be able to provide the trade protection and anti-raider services her cousin Orodruin was designed to provide, and which are sorely needed now that the ACM have reduced their services to the world.

Improved Starkhorn-class cruisers, these two ships are built the same as the Starkhorn save that they have a full, more powerful turbine set, an enlarged magazine, and increased range. It is suspected that the Starkhorn will be refitted to this type after both types are evaluated.

Built as a continuation of the belted cruiser line of warships started by Lady Oyama in 1897, the Silvertine beings the belted cruiser up to the level of the Arcadia-like warships and nearly qualifies as a armored cruiser. This fast warship with long range will be able to patrol the Oceans for pirates and other problems for the Mark and with its 7.5 inch guns and 5 inches of belt armor, deal with any problem short of one of the new battlecruisers. Even most Armored Cruisers of foreign lands should be threatened by this vessel's firepower and speed.
