Citizen Ambassador Janine Maartens enterd the Conferance Room of the Consulate. Her personal Bodyguard Corporal Romar acting as Balif Bellowed "All Rise" and snaped to rigid atention as she walked to the bench prepared for these proceadings, Maartens braced to atention facing the flag briefly before taking her seat. "You may be Seated" said Corpral Romar.
Maartens glanced over both the Defence and Prosicution "I will assume you are both ready and not here just to waste my time?" pausing briefly to allow either to protest "Good then lets get down to Brass Tacks shall we"
Andrei Timonosow as examined the internal decoration of the make shift court hall.
He really did not had any thing better to do be for the trial, his client was a interesting young men. That Lenin person definitely had charisma is nothing else.
Timonosow meet me like him all his life. Ambitious strong willed.
The problem with this one was that he actually believed that what he was doing was right.
Andrei Andreievich Timonosow was an old men his 75 years of age showed clearly.
His face ravaged by the sun and his posture hunched by the time.
His Traditional ceremonial court robe stood out in the crowd, Romanians had there own versions on, Rohan ones were also distinctive.
"All Rise"
That was his cue, he stood up cursing his old bones under his breath.
The judge was a pretty young woman, for him all under 60 were young.
As for her being pretty, his eyesight was in a state that all women that were higher that wide were attractive to him.
"You may be Seated"He sat down.
"I will assume you are both ready and not here just to waste my time?" The judge said, pausing briefly to allow protest "Good then lets get down to Brass Tacks shall we"
She had a nice sounding voice too.
OOC:
Some one reading the charges will be nice.
I honestly don't know them

OOC: That was up to TC, as its his trial should he want to send them to me ill revise the opening to include them.
Lieutentant Jovana Limora, the assistant legal consol of the Romanian navy, and the second highest-ranking woman in the entire Romanian Armed Forces, rose at the cry of "All Rise" from the Baliff. She had been flown in the night before, from the Imperial Palace, after personally meeting with the Princess and discussing the course of action with her. She was wearing a formal full dress uniform, with one exception. She was wearing the Green Beret that was awarded to her, as was assigned to the 200 odd who were parachuters in Romania. She was only one of two women with the prestigious beret, the other, of course, being the Empress. After the Judge stated I will assume you are both ready and not here just to waste my time? Good, then let us get down to Brass Tacks, shall we?", she sat down, and waited for the witnesses of the Ukrainian goverment to appear.
She than rose, and stated. "The Imperial Romanian Goverment charges Vladmir Lenin with the crimes of 1st Degree Murder, 2nd Degree Mourder, 3rd Degree Murder, Seizure of Goverment Property, Dustruction of Goverment Property, Theft of Goverment Property, Treason, and Piracy," and sat back down.
"Not guilty"
And that's all? That may be the general plea, but you also need to examine, question him.
I guessed that it is the answer too the charge and then the prosecution gives its speech.
Defendent goes first, I think. Then prosecution goes, than defendent goes again, and then the prosecution goes, and then it should be over(cross-examination at each stage.)
The Orange ambassador watching the first day of the trial thinks: "shouldn't the prosecutor give an extensive speech describing everything they think what happened as detailed as possible, instead of an unbased charge? Or does she think this in unnecessary because the result is already said? It's not like the defender could counter her as long as there is nothing to talk about."
IC:
Andrei Timonosow was watching Lieutentant Jovana Limora, he wondered about her.
Was that girl making a dramatic pause to build up the tension? How delightful, people tended to take out the theatricals out of the law and the court. It appeared that this girl, how did that artist put is... oh yes "Was Rocking it old school". To bad his line of defence was what it was. With a different one may be able to have more fun.
OOC:I'll start it off. Marek, I think we should each do our own witnesses during that stage, but during the cross examination, we do the lawyer and witness in seperate posts, posted by ourselfs
The Rohanese baliff called out 'Captain Bureckia, to the witness stand!'
As the witness walked to the front, Lieutentant Jovana Limora got up out of her chair, and began to pace in front of the witness stand. "Captain Bureckia," she began,"Where were you on the night of November 13th, 1918?"
Captain Burecckia replied,"I was in the town of Varna, or what was Varna in those days."
Please describe what happened that night.
"I had sailed my ship, the Elisaveti, into Varna. There, we docked, and most of the people on the ship got off of it, on leave, including myself. On that night, when I had just gotten off, I heard a gun go off in the distance. I thought it was just a local hooligan, and ignored it. So, as I began walking toward the VIP lounge for naval commanders, I saw a ... cloud of calvary sweeping down the street. A bomb went off, I saw, thrown by that man," he said, pointing, to the defendent,"and killed more than five people, in cold blood. Then, he, and they, went onto my ship, and....hijacked it. I saw them," he said hystarically, his voice rising, and tears welling up in his eye, "shoot every single person on the ship, with no rational. And worse of all, a memory that will haunt me, for the rest of my days," he said, a tear dripping down his cheek, "they hung up my gunnery officer, right in front of the aft 50 pounder. But they didn't just hang him. They shot a damn high explosive round right into his gut, and were laughing, as the Elisaveti sailed away. Just....just...laughing."
How do you know that the person you just accused was 'the leader' of this tradegy?
"Oh, it was obvious. Everybody followed him. He was the one who threw the bomb, he was the one who shot my gun..gun...gunnery officer in the gut. He was obviously the ringleader, and he flew the same flag flow by those in the Baltic Confedertaion in 1903, the Spanish in the same year."
And what has happened to you since then?
"It's been awful.....I was dishonorably relased from the Navy in December of the same year. My credit has plunged because of it, and my home in Bucharesti was seized, for the lack of income. Nobody will hire me, and, worse of all," he said, beginning to cry,"my..my wife died from stress caused by this." He recomposed himself, and went on, "And it's all because of this one damn commie!"
Lieutentant Jovana Limora paused for a moment. Even she, normally very composed, was touched, in spite of herself, by this. She could barely squeak out the words,"The prosecution rests, for the moment."
OOC:Now, Marek, should be your turn. You can start the cross-examination. In this, you ask a question, and I'll give the response.
Timonosow remained poker-faced, even with all his experience in courts, it was not easy not to lose it. He remembered the days long gone when we to was in the military. He stood up from his chair and said
"Mister Burecckia, my condolences for your wife." Timonosow lowered his head slightly "You said that the men was uniformed and were operating under a flag.
You said that they rode in the harbour firing there weapons and throwing bombs, You seen the men in question capture Your ship and and kill your crew. It all happened after first shoots were fired.
Sounds to me that that all the charges to my client ,save one, are void as his action were part of an armed uprising."
Timonosow paused
He wanted to say more but refrained himself, ridiculing this men who once called himself officer was beneath him. He simply added
"What You describe is a war crime at best. I have no further questions."
OOC:
It looks like we got this this off to bad start, My earlier not guilty post was a miss fire. A single word from the accusation escaped me. Retroactively changing earlier post is something I cannot do, so I will not. Your post have thrown me completely of guard I have to say. I did not expected You to take this route. Still the show 'must go on'
"Ah," said Mister Bureckia. "I would beg to differ. There was no uniforms on, at all. I'm not sure where you are getting that from. They also shot down a officer, in a form of torture? Is that not a war crime itsself. It sounds vaguly Anachuac to me."
"In Your exact word ["and he flew the same flag flow by those in the Baltic Confedertaion in 1903, the Spanish in the same year."] I and the international law constitute it as uniformed enough."
Timonosow looked at the judge.
"The men at the time we wearing red patterns on there closes, and a redstar or a hammer and sickle on there persons. That fact is with in the evidence material. They were uniformed combatants. My client is not charged with war crime."
"One more thing, I am unfamiliar with the expression Anachuac other that a geographical name.
I thing You mean that it was gruesome,c'est la guerre"
"Actually, sir, he was referring to the practices of the Anahauc Empire before it was destroyed by the Rohanese twenty years ago. I believe the judge know what he was referring to. And I have proof, in the form of documents, that shows that this attempt was plotted, as a act of treason against Romania. Lenin is a Romanian citizen, having been born there. Does that not make him subject to Romanian law, which declares that treason? And is it legal, under international convention, to hold Lenin in Ukraine, when he is subject to Romanian law?" interjected Limora.
OOC:Alternate Lenin, I suppose. Real Lenin lead the revolt in Russia, and was born there, so I will assume the same.
OOC:
Vladimir Ilvich Lenin is Romanian?
IC:
"Lieutentant Jovana Limora, thank You for that information even at this old age of mine I still learn new things."Timonosow smiled saying this.
He picked up a piece of paper from his table.
"I like to present this piece off evidence. This is a formal international wanted letter issued by The Romanian government for one Vladimir Ilyich Lenin.
Quote from: TexanCowboy on March 26, 2010, 03:45:29 PM
The Romanian goverment demands the return of Lenin to the Imperial Romanian Goverment. He is wanted for the act of Grand Theft of Goverment Property, 1st Degree Murder, 3rd Degree Murder, and Homicide.
According to Your Law my clients charges at this court are not the same as those that he was detain for.
Care to explain?"
After saying those last word he looked at the Rohan Ambassador presiding the hearing.
"I would. During the period between the issuing of that letter and now, more incriminating evidence was found against Mr.Lenin that indited him on other crimes."
"During the period between the issuing of that letter and now"Timonosow raised an eyebrow"Like What? We did not revived any additional information. Romanian govenment is very flamboyant with there words. I think its negligence at best."
OOC:
This is getting more convoluted by the minute, I think the judge needs to say something.
Also I'm turning in for the night 2:45AM is way past my bed time:D
OOC: I'll admit it, I'm lost too. What I said was, that I kind of claimed Lenin before the law against claiming was established, so he's Romanian. Also, 'new information' was aquired probebly means that I just forgot to put it down on the letter. It was 1:00 A.M. here, so....
OOC:
'The show must go on' still I have little idea how this show will proceed
IC:
On the audience section:
A Serb and a Croatian was talking with hushed tones
"Did You heard that guy?"
"Yeah..."
"Were did they found this guy,how on God green earth did he become naval officer?"
"He probably had a rich uncle, or paid for his commission."
"Well he did had a bad experience but I believed that Romanians had stomach for those sort of thing."
"Young people pff..."
"Well that Lenin fellow sounds all right"
"Yeah You like that You old goat"
"I'm not that old"
"Well You stink like a goat."
"Shut up"
The world re-noun globetrotters 'the two old goat' are now Ukrainian citizens.
The female or the officer? The female would be because she's a damn good parachutest....
I did used the word 'Guy'
Ok.
IC:
"Your honor I have no further questions for the 'captain'."
On the audience section
"This is boring,I rather be fishing"
"I rather be in a place that You are not."
"Pass me the vodka"
OOC:
I hope that DesertFox will do something with this trial.
Like bomb it or something this role-play is one big miss fire.
Let's just let the judge decide it, because at this point, I think we have it dead.....
etc, etc, etc....
OOC I could always write up a rescue mission. But then everyone and their grandmothers will declare war on NS even is NS had nothing to do with the rescue mission...
Could be something else...and assassination plot.
QuoteLenin is a Romanian citizen, having been born there.
Looking around for something else, I realized you had this...
http://www.navalism.org/index.php?topic=4507.0
... and Lenin's not on your list so I would say that he's Russian, like in OTL (read:
Russian aggression against Romania = WAR!). :D
Ill be posting somthing this weekend, sorry about being a kind of noshow for the trial.
