HY2 1916

Turn sheet

I made a map for myself of all my regions, and picked where I wanted to expand in 1917.
This also let me double check everything to make sure my counts were correct.

The biggest shortfall was not assigning deployment points to support Colonial Air points,
you don't need them in the Homeland, but you do in the colonies.
Which I fixed.

Good news - enough Land/Air/Deployment points to go around, I hadn't messed it up !
...but I will need more.

The White Bay and South Platta regions were established with the idea of interior expansion...
before the Wilno and Incan territories 'fenced it off'.
So, the expected expansion did not happen, and the two regions are collapsed into One.

I was experiencing difficulty in making sure I didn't build 3 IC on a Port Symbol, and other tracking.
So I have revamped my turn sheet to have categories for each land type in each region.
Those which are fully built are greyed out.
Those which are partially built have the # of the IC being worked on.

So if I have 3 coastal average provinces, it may eventually look like
Region-name , Coastal average (3) #4 - indicating that I've built 3 IC in them, and am working on the 4th.

For provinces with Ports, that will be listed as a reference point.

Anyhow, completing 3 IC, and starting/continuing a bunch more.

Next turn I may break the Colonial building into a separate tab.

Warships

Purchase 2 'Recalde' class gunboats from Iberia  (pending confirmation)

Having completed the 1910 sub tech in HY1, the Parthians seek to employ it, laying down 1 of each submarine tonnage range.

completions

4x Fleet Destroyers
4x Destroyers
16 x MTB (laid & completed)
2x MSE (laid & completed)
1x 1910  Sub-250 (laid & completed)
1x 1910  Sub-500 (laid & completed)
1x Fleet Supply vessel

16x 1904 DD ASW Refurbish
8x 1906 DD ASW Refurbish

Laydown
1x 1910  Sub-750
1x 1910  Sub-1000
4x 1916  Patrol Sloop
After looking at where I wanted to expand in 1917, I needed to build more LP+AP so I could build more DP....

So, building continues at a ramped down pace on the 4 Battlewagons and 2 Cruisers
It will bounce back up shortly.

Ah I was wondering who was going to snap up the other two Ricalde class GBs. I feel your pain with ICs, I too had to make a separate spreadsheet to keep track of everything, I split up the provinces up by cost to build ICs, and had to make maps for Australia.

As a storyline matter I want more "coast guard" gunboat type ships to patrol my extremely extensive coastlines.
The new Aux patrol sloops will fit nicely in that part of the concept, but are rather light on the gun batteries.
I also want something with "gunboat" in the look, which could credibly be providing needed force if
the new members of the Parthian Empire need further persuading, something needs to back up the Marines.
Alternately, credibly be stopping piracy, slavery etc where they may shoot back.

However, ocean-going vessels with respectable performance are needed.
DE or TGB concept is relevant. Byzantium must also replace 500t TGBs built in 1892.

The new sloops might lead to some faster, more capable DE types.

The partial conversions of the 1904 and 1906 DDs will give the fleet a screen of what's effectively a DE role, while the 1908/1913/1915 DDs are "attack" vessels.

For the Sloops, I could have made an ok subchaser on ~200 tons*, but went for the 600 multirole for just reason you state - ocean-going vessels with respectable performance are needed as well.

*Tinkering with a rebuild of the 1899 210t Javelin class as subchasers. Probably in 1917.5, I want a little time with the new experimental subs "in service" so Parthia can evaluate the need.
