The birth of the Empire of Ethiopia and the appearance of a foreign fleet in the Red Sea caused the Construction Plan of the Byzantine Empire to be adjusted in 1913 & 1914.

For the first time, all the dry docks are used and the old battleships Abdul Kadir and Justinianus sent for scrap to provide surplus steel.

To operate in the Red Sea, 48 x MTBA and 10 minesweepers are built.
To reinforce the fleet, in 1914, 4 x 6950t Armored Cruisers (Harad class) took over the 234mm turrets of the Barbarossa class battleships.
These cruisers are assigned to reinforce the 5th & 6th battle divisions formed for the colonies.

It is a little disconcerting to have the NPCs become active.
My island hopping to Kalifern looks different with the Chinese, Japanese and Aztec all active.
And the Byzantines at Guadalcanal meant my Southern route could be blocked in conflict, so I had to forge a Northern one !
Did they beat the drum slowly,
Did they play the fife lowly,
Did they sound the death march, as they lowered you down,
Did the band play the last post and chorus,
Did the pipes play the flowers of the forest
