As jef says I would rework the DD a bit to improve it's performance.  you can go as low as a .5 composite strength, possibly add some misc weight to it, make it a touch faster, or add another gun.  That said you don't have to but I would personally recommend it.

I'm frequently guilty of this as well, but you might want to double check that you want the ends to have no armor.
