To secure it's borders against it's eight direct neighbors Germany has a strong conscript army.

The military influences many aspects of everyday life. Apart from from the hundred thousands men serving in the army and the ever growing navy there is also the Postal service and the railways which have military like structure - ensuring they work like clockwork under any circumstances.


The German Army currently consist of 10 corps which are active (or higher) and 10 more reserve corps. In Addition to that the Zeugmeister have material for 15 more corps in their arsenals. All of which have been brought to 1895 standards in recent years.
The German Artillery corps currently consist of 6 units - all state of the art 1895 standard.

Fortifications
After the last war (against France), Germany has spent a lot of money into securing its borders. The borders of Elsass-Lothringen has been turned into 200 km of fortified line, dotted along it are 15 small 3 citadel fortresses and 5 medium 6 citadel fortresses.
