Shadowfax, Battleship of the Mark, has taken position of the Calmacil, Combat Cruiser of the Mark, in Pôrto Alegre. Her business there is to help keep the peace until such time as French forces can resume control over the situation.

April 13, 1904

Brytta, Battleship of the Mark has remained on station at Sao Luis due to a similar situation as encountered in Pôrto Alegre. This time it is a group of Austrians has captured several Followers of the Eye as well as local rebels against the French. The Forces of the Mark have decided to maintian a presence in this port until French Forces can regain control of the situation. It was noted in teh report from the Brytta that the Austrians flew the French national colors over their own flag.

April 18, 1904

Tol Morwen, Collier of the Mark escorted by Minas Harthad, Belted Cruiser of the Mark, have arrived in Pôrto Alegre to resupply Shadowfax, Battleship of the Mark, and Calmacil, Combat Cruiser of the Mark. After taking on coal and the marines from Brytta, Battleship of the Mark, Tol Morwen, Minas Harthad, and Calmacil will return to New Beleriand. Shadowfax will remain on station until her sistership, Arcadia, arrives. At that time it is expected the the French government will have done something and thus the two battleships will be able to return to New Beleriand.

April 23, 1904

Romendacil, Combat Cruiser of the Mark, has relieved Brytta, Battleship of the Mark, from duties at Sao Luis. Brytta will now be able to return to New Beleriand after concluding her tour of Brazil. Romendacil will remain on station until French Forces resolve the local problems.

April 29, 1904

The Armies of Rohan have been placed on full muster. With the increased amount of incidents in Brazil and now the beginning of a war between the Eastern Kingdom and the New Swiss, the Mark is preparing for the possibility of a new war. An effort to rebuilt the forces lost in the Anahuac War is expected to be called within the next few months.

May 1, 1904
(Day of the King)

The Day of the King has come again. Today we remember the Kings of old. From Eorl the Young to Arathorn XI we remember them all as best we can. Everyone has their favorate King or Queen. Many remember Eowyn (II) Queen of the Mark and Gondor from just after the Cataclysm. She who lead the people to safty as the ashes of Mt. Doom dropped the lands into a icy slumber. It is she who gathered what Gondorians could be found south of Rohan and unite them under her crown. It was not until nearly 900 years had passed that Rohan found the remaining Kingdom of Gondor far to the south in what is today New Beleraind and the surrounding region. Others remember Arathorn (VII) King, who drove the Olmec into the sea and in the year 601 of the Sixth Age, and was proclaimed King of Rohan and Gondor by the Gondorians of New Beleriand once it was discovered that he alone had the strongest trace of the blood of Elendil left in the known world. Some of the more adventurous think back farther to Theoden (I) King, and his nephew Eomer (I) King. They are perhaps the most legendary of kings. However the cerimony of the Rulers of Rohan is for August on Theoden's Day. This day is for all kings...Rohirrim, Gondorian, and those that came before. This day also remembers the King Elessar, who lead with wisdom and justice in the Fourth Age. None know if he truely lived to be 207 years old. Maybe one day when the technology is avalible we can see for sure, as his body still lays in state in Mundburg with two small people that we can only assume to be the hobbits Peregrin and Meriadoc. Who they really are in not know for sure.

The situation to the North has the Mark on edge. With the United Kingdom of America seeming starting a war over the Swiss city of Anchorage and the Eastern Kingdom's claim to said lands. Rohirrim negoatiators having attempted to work out a solution between the parties had managed to gain payment from the New Swiss on the issue to the Eastern Kingdom, but the pressing of United Kingdom Forces on the Rocky Mountians seems to have derailed some parts of the negotiations. It is unclear at present as to how this will end.

May 8, 1904

Observers from the Army of the North have reported an increase of Eastern Kingdom airships near the Missouri River border. Probably scouting UKA positions. Locals have been getting use to the idea of flying men since the first steam powered balloons made it to Rohan nearly half a century ago. "Things still scare the horses sometimes when they come in low." said one officer.

May 14, 1904

Communications with the government of the New Swiss in Hawaii has become more stable these last few weeks. Probably because of the situation in Anchorage. Whatever the reason, at least they haven't gone turtle like Spain did after their civil war.

May 15, 1904

The Confederate State of America has recently resumed active comunications with the Rohirrim. President Roosevelt, a decorated hero of the Anahuac War as far as the Rohirrim are concerned, has offered a trade: ships for techology. The Mark, being short on cruisers, has accepted the trade. The Mark will purchase eight Confederate cruisers to fill in gaps in the fleet in exchange the Confederates will receive funds, and some techical support for their next battleship type vessel.

May 17, 1904

Dwimorberg and Irensaga near sistership of Starkhorn, Belted Cruiser of the Mark, have been laid down in Forlond this last Sunday. These two cruisers are expected to surpass the abilities of Starkhorn in engine power and endurance. It is also expected that Starkhorn will be returned for a rebuild to fit the standarads of her near sisters sometime within the next few years should the expectations of the twins come to be correct.

May 28, 1904

Five new destroyers of the Shearfoot-class have been laid down in New Beleriand in responce to the lack of anti-torpedo boat vessels in that region of the world. It is hoped that the increase in smaller vessels will allow the Mark to maintain its superiority in the region and reduce the threat of outside powers or an ideas of a return for the Followers of the Eye.

The Kingdom of Rohan has issued a protest over the actions of the United Kingdom of America over its invasion of the Eastern Kingdom. This act of unneeded aggression threatens the peace on Turtle Island as some of the tribes call it. "Middle Earth has just barely recovered from the war with the Followers of the Eye and the Kingdom of Normans to the East wish to wage war on the Nihon Kingdom to the North, will our troubles ever end?" asked Theocro King last Monday.

June 5, 1904

The Army of the Great Plains and the Army of the North have been redeployed along the Missouri River border with the Eastern Kingdom and the United Kingdom of America in an effort to show the two powers that Rohan is ready if they decide to continue with there rather irrational war. If their forces cross the river the Kingdom of Rohan is ready to enact justice should it be warrented. The Riders of Rohan have mustered and the Mark will defend its own and its allies.

June 6, 1904

Ostoher, Combat Cruiser of the Mark, has been sent to Anchorage to oversee efforts of negotiations over the Swiss-Nihon territorial dispute.

June 7, 1904

Narmacil, Combat Cruiser of the Mark, has been sent out to Hawaii so an emissary can discuss future relations and the future of the Swiss in the Pacific with the Rohirrim.

June 8, 1904

A telegram was sent by cable today to Taiwan from the Kingdom of Rohan. The contents suggest that the Rohirrim have delivered an olive branch from the Austrians to the Taiwanese over the incident of several years ago. The Mark is unsure if the Taiwanese will consider estabishing relations with the Hapsburg Empire, but have place Rohan as a trade partner for the wayward former Swiss states.

June 10, 1904

Theocro King of Rohan has issued a special patch for an Austrian unit he has been given "ownership". "The Mark will dignify the Austrians with symbolism until such time as the King might actually be able to see this unit for himself." The patch bares a likeness of a white horses of a green field with "First Regiment" written in ancient Sindarin, an extinct elven language.
(Now if I could make a patch using elven than would be awsome, but I don't know if I can yet)

Wireless reports from Lord Harlock, Captain of Arcadia, Battleship of the Mark, and Elfhelm Hornblower, Captain of Shadowfax, Battleship of the Mark, report that their vessels have passed their respective trails periods and are behaving roughly as designed. Each ship seems to have different quirks, probably due to the extend of construction needed to get each vessel completed after their seperate acquasitions from France. Arcadia seems to be slightly faster than her sistership while Shadowfax seems to have better roll propertiles. The differences are marginal, but enough to keep the two ships trying to outdo the other.

June 19, 1904

Ostoher, Combat Cruiser of the Mark, has setup on station in Anchorage to defend Rohirrim interests in the harbor should hostilities break out locally.

June 24, 1904

White Smoke Boilers company has stated that they are working on the oil fired boiler concept conceived by Confederate engineers and Rohirrim naval architects for the then recently acquired Arcadia. The company proposes that oil would be more efficient in the long run and allow for the longer ranged "battlecruisers" the Marshals of the Sea have plotted over the last year or so.

June 26, 1904

Toyotomi Daisho, makers of fine blades, as well as Alatar & Pallando Firesticks have increased production of weapons to fit out the expected 132,000 soldiers to be recruited and trained in the next six - nine months for the Army of the Mark.

June 27, 1904

Bombadil Motors (Stanley Steamer) new autocoaches are becoming faster and more reliable every year. The Model C was entered in the race in Africa this last year, though the results of which have not been made public yet.

June 30. 1904

The Army of the Rocky Mountains has been stationed on the border between Rohan and the Eastern Kingdom in case the situation to the north degenerates into a General War. This brings the number of active Rohirrim Micelhusl on the norther and eastern borders to 13 along with the regular tribal milita units of our allies. Rumors that the Army of Rohan will return to Rohan by January have been started as recruitment drives in Gondorian Rohan and Rohan increase.

Reports from Edoras say that John Dunbar, ambassador to Rohan from the United Kingdom of America has pensioned the Mark to mediate a truce to the unexpected war in the north. Negotiations are expected to begin on Monday the 4th of July in the city of Rivendell (Nelson, British Columbia, near both EK and UKA borders). The Armies of the Mark are still on alert in case negotiations fail. Faramir Deneson of Ithilien, Lord of Emyn Arnen, shall represent Rohan as mediator.
