Note : With the events of 1906 it became evident that Bavaria should not rely on French and Italian sources of artillery.  While SIG undertook to develop light cannon, it was evident that the Kingdom needed a dedicated foundary. In 1913 the Royal Bavarian Arsenal (KBZ) was founded in Chemnitz, with later facilities in Ulm and Nuremberg.

Weapons produced show the strong influence of their French and Italian antecedants, having been updated with screw breeches, split tails with spades, improved hydro-pnuematic recoil systems, and rubber rimmed gun wheels. Shell caliber remains the same, but enlarged breeches allow tapering noses and extend the ranges.
