 April 4, 1903

Work on a new set of turbine at Brandybuck Engineering stopped abruptly yesterday. Thoughts that the turbine blade might shatter under the pressure and moisture have lead the engineers to do a massive rethink of the rotation to prop speed. A few clever engineers think they might have a solution, but will need at least three more months to enact a possible solution. Should the solution be what they hope the design head believes he can get a working pair of turbines to the battleship Arcadia and Shadowfax and have them able to sail by the end of the year.

April 8, 1903

Westrom traders sailing the waves near the Eastern coast of New Rhun have reported several French freighters hanging around the southern edge of Rohan's Territorial Waters. When asked what they were doings, most did not respond, or said they were fishing, or delivering supplies to the Grand Canal. Other traders have reported seeing some of these loitering French vessels even farther south, even as far south (Colon area). They seem to sit several miles out to sea but just sit there. No moves have been made towards this ships other than to ask if they are in trouble and what they are doing.

April 28, 1903

The torpedo boat Muzgash has been completed. It will undergo testing of its hull and weapons over the next several months along with its twin Radburg. Delivery of this vessel and the Hawaii seems possible for the Swiss in Hawaii, but diplomatic channels are attempting to find a proper route on who to deliver the two vessels too.

May 4, 1903

Rohan would state that is finds all of the recent territorial shift quite troubling. All in the name of stopping the spread of communism, yet it seems to spread faster that it should. Thus Rohan is suspect as to the actually causes of the rash of communism of late. Some might say the Europeans are creating their own shadows to fight, but with our long history, Rohan knows that the shadows are there just looking for a way to spite the world of Men. Rohan has increased the bounty on the one named Agrival Mars to 3,000 troy ounces of gold, as Rohan suspects him for many crimes against Rohan and the world in general.

May 7, 1903

With the New Swiss having serious internal troubles the Swiss forces in San Francisco have withdrawn to Hawaii. The Republic of California has propositioned the Kingdom of Rohan for a naval contract. Specifically replacements for their two aging Rohirrim Battleships. The Rohirrim have responded that within the next nine months they will do an exchange-purchase agreement with California for the return and scrapping of the two former Rohirrim Battleships in exchange for Eorl, Battleship of the Mark, and perhaps one or both of Rohan's remaining Coastal Defense Battleships. An offer to purchase the two remaining Armored Cruisers was refused due to a lack of replacements and the great range the two cruisers have over the rest of the Rohirrim Cruiser forces.

May 18, 1903

The Governor-General of the Democratic People's Republic of Mesoamerica has formerly requested a Rohirrim sweep of his southern territories. It seems that there are a few holdouts from the Anahuac Empire striking his peoples, and he wants a more visible presence of the Mark to end their dealing. The Gondorian Forces in Hondoras have been sent to see what the Governor-General is talking about.

May 28, 1903

With much cerimony, Brytta, Battleship of the Mark was commissioned into the Fleet of the Northern Seas. The new battleship has been altered from the appearance of the Elfwine that was commissioned several years ago. She is closer to the Eomer in appearance, at least when one looks at her forward turrets. The space between A and B turrets is much greater with the B turret superimposed over A turret. Brytta will leave on a shakedown cruise and trails tomorrow.

June 8, 1903

Elements of the First Micelhusl of Edoras attacked an Anahuac base in southern Mesoamerica yesterday. Troops from the Mesoamerican Army assisted in the fighting. The Govenor-General has requested that the Army of Rohan train his army. The idea has been given consideration.

June 12, 1903

The freighter Star of Elendi, S.W. has been completely repaired and relaunched in Mithlong today. The local dockmaster says she needs a little work still, but they can be done dockside rather than in the drydock itself. Fitting out reportedly will take another month.

June 27, 1903

A new engine from Minas Nin Engines has been installed in Hawaii, Battleship of the Swiss. She will be launched for trails in July.

June 30, 1903

Reports that the Non-Agression Treaty between Rohan and Russia will be renewed have caused a slight messure of hope as the world spirals towards darkness again. Rumors that a Non-Agression Treaty with the United Kingdom of America and a Trade Treaty with the Hapsburg Empire have been stalled in the details remain unconfirmed.

His Excellency Count Przewalski was livid.
- "So at the last moment the horseboinking shrivelled brain goatherds demand another clausule to the trade agreement! As if their Ius Stapulae - straight from the Dark Ages was not enough - and which we cannot reciprocate, this time they want inspection rights to Rohirrim antiques AFTER these have passed through their Customs! It is their busines to get it right the first time around! I have a good mind to include "All stupid Rohirrim encountered outside of Austrian ports will be shot on sight" clause! And let Vienna sort out the mess!"
