Well I agree that the New Swiss have been constantly in a state of flux some of us were beggining to think their New Monarchy even if elected seemed to have brought the possible of stability to the nation....  We had hopes and had even tentatively allowed renewed diplomatic contact :o

There are lots of interesting places that could use a good steady hand [Besides New Swiss :)] Russia - Blooded had to leave, Im pretty sure Northern China, Maybe Ukraine, I havent seen Hooper in UNK for a while either.  So lots of places available.

New Switzerland needs (and currently has) a good unsteady hand. Otherwise it just isn't Swiss anymore. :D

The only chaos going on possibly in the Domain of the Mark is the New Swiss are having one of their Republican, Socialist possibly communist revolutions overthrowing their duely elected monarch?????   Many of us are still waiting for news on how that all turned out.
And the Habsburgs are NOT involved!

I notice events are happening spread over a vast number of years.  Not only here but in other threads.  (The Swiss are fighting in early 1917, the Columbians are in late 1920, and so on)

I take it things are just happening when people can get around to them.

Desertfox

Yeah, I should have finished the civil war a while back, but school hit me for quite a while. Some stories are even older (Guinness' Ottoman War Stories).

OOC

HY report wise, we're entering 1919.

My stuff is purposefully backdated to give backstory for events to come. It's not expected that anyone will react until that storyline catches up with the sim.

The Mark has been quiet for a while. (and it isn't my fault for once).

Unless of course the stories are being told in another thread that I misses.

Our good friend Tanthalas has been given an all expenses paid trip to (Insert Name of Country full of people who'd like to shoot Americans). I have no idea when he'll be back this time. Now that he's an Officer (LT to be precise) he could be out for a while.

One of my uncle's is a reserve logistics officer and has had several tours over seas and still had to wear body armor and carry his side arm with him wherever he went.  He once even got "shot" at as in someone decided to fire a couple of mortar shells into the base camp.

You want to hear the funny thing?  My uncle got tired of being called up with as little as a few weeks between deployments that he just told the army to move his commission back the regular army.  That was some time back in 2008 or 2007 and he has been stationed in Texas ever since.

Tell Tanthalas to keep his head down and take care.  Also thanks for serving.

Since pretty much none of this is news, I've split it off into a meeting room thread. See http://www.navalism.org/index.php?topic=4108.0 for the news topic.

Oh.  That would explain why he hasn't responded to any PMs the last month or so.

Question:  Should I fill in while the Lt. is off serving his country?

I don't know about filling in for current events or sim reports (he didn't have time to fill me in on everything), but there is a lot of filler content that could be caught up on.  The Rohirrim Rider hasn't been updated much in the last decade, and I'm sure some of the personalities are doing things to reflect things that have happened without changing the situation.  Also a lot of naval movements and war games that can be played with without doing too much to the international scene (aside from maybe worrying the Columbians, but they seem paranoid anyway).

maddox

I don't see any problems; So you have my approval to fill in, as a neutral, on a few conditions for the time being .

Tanthalas tried to stay the White Knight neutrals the Rohirrim are (tried), so you just can pick up where you left.

If you want to become less neutral, I suggest PM's to the Moderators.

There are some potential agreements made by TAN, the relevant players will PM you about those (Include at least 1 mod in those please)
