The Rock Doctor

The Rock Doctor

This was a projected semi-dreadnought being considered for 1902.  Ongoing international tensions meant construction actually focused elsewhere.  That being said, the concept was a starting point for design of the Invencible class of 1905.

The Libertador class armored cruisers were designed for around 1904-05, but similarly never got started.

The Rock Doctor

This is originally what the Triunfante class battleships were going to look like.  Revised turret design, allow axial firing of superfiring turrets, lead to a re-design.

The Rock Doctor

A ~1912 or so small armored cruiser, with 8 x 240mm guns.

The Rock Doctor

A trade-protection cruiser with 8x194mm and support capabilities for a blimp.  Did not progress to far, the Colombians reckoning it'd be dead meat against the current generation of raiding armored cruisers.

The Rock Doctor

A different approach to trade protection - slow and heavily armed, with 6 x 305mm.  Not necessarily a completely dead idea, but certainly not being actively constructed.

The Rock Doctor

A combination aircraft carrier/airship carrier considered for the 1919 program but ultimately cancelled due to questions about its viability and value.
