(Delivered to the Spanish Empire on September 15th and released to the newspapers on the same date.)


WHEREAS Without cause the Spanish Empire has in an uncivlised manner destroyed a warship of the NSN.

WHEREAS Without cause the Spanish Empire has barbaricly murdereded 260 NSN sailors.

WHEREAS Without cause the Spanish Empire has attacked merchant ships of the Swiss Merchant Marine

WHEREAS Without cause the Spanish Empire has evicted Swiss citizens from her lands.

WHEREAS Without cause the Spanish Empire has aided and provided an enemy of NS with weapons of mass destruction.


The United States of New Switzerland and Austrialia hereby demands the following:


The removal of all Spanish instrument of war from the Pacific in excess of those neccesary for the mantaining of peace.

The payment to the amount of (5 HBPs) for the destruction of the NSS Justice & NSS Launceston.

The payment to the amount of (10 LBPs) to the families of those murdered by the Spaish Empire.

The stop of all help to the Middle Kingdom by the Spanish Empire.

The public apology of the Spanish Empire to New Switzerland.


The United States of New Switzerland and Austrialia hereby grants the Spanish Empire two weeks to acced to these demands.

Our responce is

We view the matter of Incident of Rustbucket as ended

We view the matter of NSS Justise as open as we are curently conducting Investigation of the explosion.

This is getting hilarious Paltpaté. New Swiss, under great international pressure stops 1 war. And not even a month later they declare war with another country. And over what. A dilapilated merchant, and an exploded 3th rated cast away from Deutsche Kaiserreigh Brandenburg.

Yes Premier, it is almost a comedy.
But how are we going to deal with it. If Spain get hurt, and the Philipines come in New Swiss hands, we lose an important trading partner, a wounded neighbor and more important a competitioner without any ties to us on the rubber market.
Also, this could be a new start of the Middle Kingdom war. Spain will not retract their fleet. And the reason they have is coming to roost. Fear of an aggressive New Swiss bent on conquering the Philipines. Now New Swiss has a "legitimate" reason...

Monsieur Grange, what is your view on this?

The foreign ministry advices the ignoring as before, but some covered help to the most interesting party could do a lot of good on long time. We view this as an investment.

Why a third foreign nation should interfere with joint friendly excercises and cooperation of 2 sovereign fleets in the proper territorial waters of one of them is a mystery to the Yamen. The Spanish vessels of war have kindly been offered for aid against pirates who have grown more bold during the distraction the war caused amongst the Middle Kingdom fleet. For the sake of peace and prosperity for all, criminal elements must be dealt with and Middle Kingdom ships will act as guides in waters familiar to them for the Spanish vessels of war.
Note that pirates have not been spotted near waters where war raged, but prefer to prey on weaker victims elsewhere. Our excercises and policing will hence not bring our joint fleets close to the waters currently used for the evacuation of the New Swiss from the Middle Kingdom mainland. And the International Peacekeeping Fleet is protecting those.
Whence the fear ?

Statement from the Government of Gran Colombia:

"It is certainly most unfortunate that Spain and New Switzerland have gone to war. Gran Colombia hopes that the conflict can be concluded through emergency negotiations, perhaps conducted by a neutral third party.

"In the mean time, Gran Colombia will diligently patrol its waters and territories to ensure its neutrality, and will continue to allow both Spanish and New Swiss shipping to make use of Gran Colombian port facilities provided that these nations respect Gran Colombian soveriegnty and neutrality."

Official Statement from the Kingdom of Rohan:

Rohan is dismayed by the recent turn of events, but is not entirely surprised by them. Ships of the Westron will be redirected as best as possible around the war zone, having already cut off trade with the Middle Kingdom by that nation's request. Naval units of Rohan will patrol the Eastern Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea as normal since the fall of the larger ACM last year. An expection will be for a pirate hunting group in search of the pirate that attacked the peace fleet in August of this year. The Kingdom of Rohan would hope our ship's would be quite distinctive in this day and age, and out flag held out high.

Rohan will not directly interfere with the Spanish-Swiss War unless the conflict spreads and effects our commerce, reduced as it is in Asia as it is. As this war is not about a dispute over territory, Rohan does not see clear path for peace at this time, but eventually the two sides will tire of the long distance war. Rohan cannot say when this will end, or if the war will actaully accomplish anything. We will just be watchful and give a fair warning, do not bring Rohan into your fight...either of you...for our military is experianced, and doesn't take kindly to those that would do us harm. Ask the Anahuac if you doubt our navy.

Rohan will attempt to keep its trade links between Russian, Swiss, Dutch, French, and Brandenburgian ports in the Pacific open. Pacific Spanish ports will likely be too dangerous for ships from Rohan, as will several Swiss ports. These will be avoided.
