Hey Its not the numbers its the thought that counts.

He has an excellent description of what the Caproni Triplane is capable of its light nimbles, and if you try to dogfight it you are likely not to live long enough to regret it....

Now once the more powerful engines both radial and inline come into production and the 1917 into 1918 aircraft the Triplane is to slow to engage many of these aircraft especially if they use a swoop and run type of engagement.  See Corsairs, and Wildcats and Hellcats vs. the Zero or even more so the P-38 Lightning.

But as for most heavily armed there are plenty of fighters out their with Twin .30 Cal machine guns.

Think of it as a business deal...  Wright is trying to sell aircraft, and the 7.92mm MGs are slightly bigger than the 7.62mm, 7.7mm, 30cal, and 0.303s in use elsewhere... ;) :D

New Zion already has a respectable airforce and indigenous manufacturing capability and is atm introducing the Lascurain Model D (Fokker DVIII). They got 10 planes each as free samples, of the latest in Wright Aircraft's.

Oman, April 13th

The sight that face Commander Brinks was much more different that that in New Zion. Oman had seen Orange investment but was still much smaller and less developed than New Zion. Muscat could barely be considered a village, compared to the bustling city of Tel Aviv. It did not matter for Brinks' mission.

"Greetings from New Switzerland, most esteemed Sultan of Oman. Seeing as we are now neighbors, his highness the President of New Switzerland wishes to bestow upon your majesty a number of gifts. First, 500 Mauser K-01 Carbines, brand new and of the best Swiss quality, also 50 Swiss-Mondragon semi-automatic rifles for your personal guard. And now for something larger, ten 76.2mm mountain guns on cavalry carriages, and the best for last, five Lascurain Type LA  two-seat scouts and advisers to teach your men to fly them..."

QuoteAmong their cargo are 5 A-class submarines.
You say 5 A-class subs, but the Swiss only have 4 according to the encyclopedia (one was sold to Siam)... or am I missing something?

Desertfox

Hmm... you're right.

Maybe the Siamese exchanged theirs for a C class, or a sixth A class was built, or... I can just fix my mistake, but 5 was such a nice non-round number...

Now, that for sure would cause some problems with Pretoria.

That could also cause problems with Romania...

Desertfox

I asked Nobody about Oman. He said that OR was not doing anything there. And why would giving gifts to a friend of OR cause problems in OR? If someone gave gifts to New Zion or Siam, New Switzerland would not complain at all, we would actually be grateful. I'm supporting the official government, not formenting unrest.

In that case, Romania would 'appricate' the same thing as New Zion....

Brandenburg would be interested in why Phoenix thinks that it needs to 'assist' Siam, considering we don't remember there being any Swiss soldiers or sailors dying to defend it from the Dutch? We would see to the needs of Siam, much the way Madrid would see to the needs of Burma, and Pretoria would see to the needs of Oman. Remember, beware Swiss baring gifts.

Those government officals stupid enough to not help Siam or New Zion in their time of need have been deposed and replaced with more intelligent ones. The Swiss government is ashamed that it did not help either country and wishes to make things right. That said no other country has invested as heavily as New Switzerland in either country and all without asking anything in return (Siam was not forced to join the 2nd Pacific War, they stayed neutral and NS had no problem with that). NS is thankful for all the assistance the DKB provided the Siamese and no longer considers the DKB an enemy, and would be willing to fight alongside the DKB against the Maori if it came to that.

As for Oman, I just got a naval base offshore, and want to stay on the Omanis good side.

And unlike every other country around, NS does not go around invading poor small defenseless countries. NS fights honorably (which has been my downfall...).
