Ahoj!
The wonders of Relativity! After a week or two of temperatures in the minus teens,
I walked out into a windy day with driving snow ... the warm air (-2 or so) felt like a woman's lips against my cheeks, it seemed so gentle and caressing ...

Yeah... I never thought I would believe 45 F could be called 'warm' but at the moment it is absolutely feeling tropical.
So 'ere's to you, Fuzzy-Wuzzy, at your 'ome in old Baghdad;
You're a pore benighted 'eathen but a first-class fightin' man;
We gives you your certificate, an' if you want it signed
We'll come an' 'ave a romp with you whenever you're inclined.

Ahoj!
Question to Nederlanders - will the Elfstedentocht be possible this year?

Well I heard a few things about it, but when the ice was thick enough for it a few weeks ago (or so), the comittee was whining about the quality of the ice ('too bumpy'). They were talking about how it had to be above 0 degrees for a bit in order for the top layer to melt and then freeze over.

... nothing but a bunch of sissies. :)

It snows here and then it thaws, it snows and then it thaws. Town council has given up on salt-gritting the secondary roads, meaning that some of the roads in our neighbourhood have become scating rinks for cars.
Fun driving though.

If anyone can locate Georgia, please return it to it's proper location. Wherever we are, it ain't the right place. 1 to 2 inches of snow accumulation predicted for Tuesday here (again). Years from now, our children will be telling their psychiatrists about this.

ctwaterman

Silly Georgian.... 1" or 2" of accumulation just means fresh Powder for the Ski Bunnies.... what is to complain about.....

Oh and I think Global Warming has moved you to upstate New York or atleast shared are Usual Snow fall with you.

Yes they will be telling them about a dream where they saw snow, had snowball fights, make snowmen, snow angle, etc and have never scene it since.  My kids ask daily to go out in the stuff and over the weekend my wife and I made a 4 foot high snow ramp in the front for the kids to go sledding down.

Ahoj!
In Warsaw the thaw has set in about a week ago.
Only patches of snow left, and ice on standing water.
About +4 during the day, and -5 at night.

We got about 1/2 inch a week ago...someone really screwed up this winter. I'm blaming global warming....

of course, they're predicting a pretty long, even for Texas, drought this summer, so I give up sanity...

Ottawa appears to be thawing out.  It's been above normal temperatures for almost two weeks, and seems inclined to stay that way.

Makes me wonder about the state of my well come summer, but we've managed to catch a lot more rainwater and reduce our usage in the past couple of years.
