We therfore declare that a state of war now exists between the United States of New Switzerland & Australia and the Middle Kingdom

Queen Wilhemenia issued the following statement:

"We find it regrettable that the wise Chinese and the noble New Swiss have come to this. This war following so close on the heels of the war in the Americas and the French-Swiss feud will result in too many innocent lives being lose.
We ask that the Governments of China and New Switzerland make one last attempt at a peaceful resolution to their problems.
If it is war then the Netherlands WILL remain neutral, but will demand that shipping be given its right to free trade with both parties. We have ordered that all trade will be of a non-military nature. We cannot control the use of our trade goods once they leave our ships. We have also ordered our shipping companies to refrain from making stops in both countries on the same voyage. Our ships will stop for inspections from warships but the seizing of said ships could result in the termination of trade and possibly war.
May God protect the innocent."

Formal decleration of war

WHEREAS China has made unreasonable demands.

WHEREAS China has threatened to use force.

WHEREAS China has attacked without warning and without cause.

To accede to the demands placed upon us by China would be to add strenght to tyrany. We cannot and will not retreat. Here we stand. So help us God. For we can do no other. (OOC anyone know where I got this line?)

We therefore declare that a state of war now exists between the United States of New Switzerland & Australia and the Middle Kingdom

Presidential speech
March 10th

"March 7th, 1901 will live on as a day of infamy! On that date a "civiliced" country opened fire on a sleeping city. Without cause China murdered thousands of inoccent civilians whose only crime was to be in the wrong place. Today we are in a war, we fight not for glory or gold, but we will fight for the freedom of a man or a nation to decide its own course. To decide without a gun pointing at his head. Four score and fifteen years ago our forebeares also fought a war. In the War of Liberation they fought the Empire, the very same empire which you know face, an empire who seeks not freedom but enslavement. An empire which is fighting a war of revenge. Some will die, but remember you are now fighting for the very survival of the Swiss. As the Lord our God died to make men holy, let us die to make men free.

May God be with you. Long live New Switzerland!"

Goverment announcements
March 15th

The goverment has announced that Shangai and Hong Kong are no longer colonies but territories of New Switzerland. All residents of both cities are eligible to receive Swiss citizenships, noone will be descriminated due to race.

Would the Chinese have treated him as kindly as we have treated the Emperor? Or would they have roasted him like they barbariously did to POWs?
