1/7 17-31/12 17
After a quiet and sun glazed summer, the people of the Esc is gathering all over the Confederation to attend the many public meetings towards the coming "Fylkething" election.

The election is to be at the 23/9, so the new "Fylkething" can convene as usual at the first Tuesday in October.

Especially in the Industrial areas is the battle fierce between candidates from the Conservative Party and the Socialist Workers Party, but without major incidences, only some coarse wording and a few thrown beer-bottles!

The result was a definite defeat for the Conservative and to some degree seats peasant party as well, but together with the Liberals will join in a new coalition government.

The Socialist Workers Party nearly trebled its representation  in  the" Fylkething" ,due to the strong support from the shipyard worker in the North and the steel workers in the Ruhr area.

Result of Election for the "Fylkething":
Last Election in brackets.
Conservative Party:                              (103) 93 -10
Liberal Party:                                        (76) 79 +3
Peasant Party:                                        (39) 34 -5
Socialist Workers Party:                          (7) 19 +12

At the same time the harbor in Hamburg is buzzing with activity with the building of the 3 Ocean-class and the new fleet flag ship,Gen Kassar.

Late in the year did also see the arrival of the two old battleships, of the Jormundgang class along with the 3 remaining Isa class cruiser ,all scheduled for scraping in 1919.

Turrets from both battleships will be retained for Coastal defenses, and they will be replaced by a pair of ships similar to the Ocean class.

In the coming years the emphasis will be placed in upgrading the Army to "cutting edge",and the construction a new generation of Aeroplanes ,and even if need be construction of new Aerodromes.
