12 June

By the decree of Kaiser Wilhelm II, the Second Reich has established diplomatic relations with France and Bavaria for the first time in nearly twenty-five years.

The Kaiser states: "It is my belief that we have kept this long-simmering feud running for far too long. Instead of maintaining grandiose dreams of revenge, we should instead accept our past defeats like gentlemen and go to work building the future."

Coupled with the Kaiser's visit to the Baltic Confederation, it seems that our Empire is willing to "bury the hatchet" with our old European adversaries. Will they be willing to do the same?

22 June
Herr von Bismarck today tendered his resignation as Chancellor. Although the official reason was given to be declining health as his age increases, it is widely believed that the true reason was disgust at the new Kaiser's "olive branch" policies towards France and the republics of Old Germany.

Her Majesty commends the DKB in it's efforts to establish peaceful relations with the French and the European Germans and offers a neutral setting to hold talks. Perhaps the coastal resort at Knokke???
