HELP NEEDED

Since my math/calculus skill is more or less nonexsisting ,can anyone help to calculate the upkeep for these coastal fortresses?

Coastal defences of the confederation:
2x8" 3 batteries at Scapa Flow
2x8" one battery at Langeland (Southern entrance of the Great Belt)
2x8" one battery at Stevns (Southern Entrance of the Sound,West)
2x8" one battery at Falserbo (Southern Entrance of the Sound,East)
2x8" 3 batteries at Stockholm

Without a sim of the battery itself, it's hard to say - but I think if you assume the maintenance is about the same as a 3,000 t ship, you're probably in the ballpark.

5 inch or higher calibre guns installed as Coastal Defence are to be Springsharped as gun, Turret and Barbette ONLY, with 0 freeboard. Double the BP cost to account for the seel going into the barbette/magazine, and installation cost would be equal to the cost of the turret. For upkeep, they are treated like naval units, based on the cost of the turret.
E.g. a 12" twin turret with 12" face and 8" side/top armor has a weight of 216t(guns)+181t(armor)=397t.
To build this turret, 0.4BP and $0.40 is needed. To install this turret (or a similar turret taken from an old battleship), you need another 0.4BP and $0.40.
Upkeep is paid based on the price of $0.40.

I suggest you just sim a 2x8" battery and figure out the cost that way.

I have this:

1 Coastalfortress 2x8" at Southern Entrace to the Sound: 0.086 BP+$0.172.

9x$1,548=$ 13,95 total build price.
Upkeep $0,7???

From what  I read, upkeep is like naval units so 5/2,5/0.5%. Looking at your info, you'd get $0.6975, $0.34875 and $0.06975.

Not sure though how you got from 0.086 BP+$0.172 to $1,548...

3x 0.086 BP=0,26BP+3x $0.172.= $0,52

You have 9 total 2x8" gun emplacements. So whatever 1 2x8" turret/barbette w/ armor cost in $ x2 is 1 emplacement. Multiply that by 9 and that will be your total 'cost' that you figure upkeep from.

I (and my Springsharp of course) would estimate a 2x8" turret at at least 150 tons (with 5" face, 4" barbette and 3" other gunhouse armor).
9*150=1350
so 5%/2.5%/1% of 1.35$ would be
.0675/.03375/.0135 $

Ok, per rules cost is 2x SS weight as cost. According to SS a 2x8" turret w/ 8/4/8 armor weighs 127t, so $0.127x2= $0.254. That is for 1(one) turret. You have 9, so $0.254x9= $2.286 for total cost. Upkeep for naval artillery is the same as ships, so its 5/2.5/0.5 mobilized/active/reserve. I presume you've kept them active, so 2.5% of $2.286= $0.05715, or $0.06 rounded up.

This seems REALLY cheap to me, but it is per the rules. I think I'll have to recheck mine to see if I'm overpaying.
