With the recent return of the Narmacil and Teton to New Beleraind and at least another month before French Navy vessels arrive at Clipperton Island, Rohan will send Thengel, Battleship of the Mark with Teton to keep watch over the island until French forces arrive. Unless the French have decided not to send ships, in which case Rohan will keep a watch on the island until the middle of November, when the Thengel will need to retire back to New Beleriand for resupply and rest for her crew. Cruiser escort for the Thengel may change as needed. These vessels are due to leave Friday.

With the completion of their last refit, the remaining purchased Confederate cruisers have entered service for the Mark. Though two have now been lost in service of the King, they did not go down without a fight. Anahuac Bark 5 and 6 can atest to that, as Klamath and Modoc but up a fight against the larger enemy warships along with Teton, which survived the engagement. Teton has recently been credited with the sinking of Bark 5, using her few torpedoes to finish off the raider. The remaining 12 third class cruisers will remain on anti-raiding and anti-piracy duties for the remainder of the war.

The siege is broken! The remains of the Anahuac Northern Army are in full retreat and there original amphibious forces have been almost totally detroyed. A few units managed to swim out to a couple of waiting enemy vessels late in the night. But as of Wednesday, Brithomber was free and the enemy was out of New Beleriand in the North. Their southern forces at Nevrast are holding but with the Legion Kondor and Legion of Freedom Volunteer Forces joining the Army of Rohan in the drive south, Nevrast will be free within a week.

The Army of Rohan along with the Legion Kondor has invaded the Southern Anahuac colony. Along with this force the Armies of Gondor and New Beleriand with the Legion of Freedom are pressing north along the Eastern Coast of the Anahuac Mosquito Coast supported by the Battleships Theodon and Goldwine. Glory to our forces and Death to our enemy!

In accordance with Rohan's treaty with the New Swiss Government, the New Swiss have informed Rohan that they will be inspecting ships leaving the nation of California's ports. Rohan has agreed to this only if Rohirrim Naval personel or government officers are present to observe the rights of the Californians, and maintain international law. The Government of California has been informed of this act, and while they are not happy with the situation, will comply with the request so long as Rohan keeps the New Swiss from "jumping the gun" as they say locally. Due to pressures of war, Rohan will only be able to send four vessels to California waters. Eomer, Battleship of the Mark will be flagship and be the instrument of maintaining both California's rights and the treaty. Along with this ship will be Ondoher and Ostoher, Combat Cruisers of the Mark, and the recently returned Orodruin, Belted Cruiser of the Mark. Orodruin will be the vessel that will have to chase down any rogue vessels, or catch any deceptions. Rohan has reminded the President of New Switzerland that the warning the King gave to the Russians a month ago also applies to the New Swiss. As Rohan tires of the constant finger pointing and innuendo between the Germanic and Russo-Fraco Bloc nations, Rohan will observe so that it will not be party to starting a second war in so sort a time.

A report about the dissapearance of the French vessel Cognille had left several Caribbean nations wondering what had happened. This may be put to rest, Rohan suspects Anahuac raiders of mistaking the vessel for an Westron vessel. The fear that the piracy might be rampant again in the Caribbean is also a possibility...for Eldacar, Combat Cruiser of the Mark under Victorious Lord Harlock, found the lost vessel on Tuesday evening. Reportedly on a tip from a Commonwealth fisherman who has seen a strange vessel a few night earlier north of Cuba, drifting slowly towards the Carolinas, and with the proper current, out to sea to be lost forever. Lord Harlock reports that the Cognille was stripped of everthing that could be lifted off the ship short of the steam engines. While no one was found onboard, the bloodstained, partly removed fine pine of the dinning room is a bad sign as to their fates. A few bullet holes found on the bridge suggest that the crew did put up a fight, likely after things got worse for the passangers. The vessel was placed under tow and brought to San Domingo Harbor by Harlock yesterday morning. Though Rohan has not real evidance as to who did this, the only know nation that conducts pirate-like raids is the Anahuac Empire. Rohan does admit they are biased when it comes to the Anahuac, so they will let the French and other local governments to investigate more while the Rohirrim Navy is busy with the matters at hand.

Reports a heavy resistance in the north have lead the Marshal of the Gondor to send the Army of the Mosquito Coast north to force a breakthough the (Honduran) border into the next providence. "They might be fanatical, but they do not have the forces to hold out against three armies." said Denethor Cotton, Marshal of Gondor.

December 8, 1899

The Army of Rohan had charged through the beaten forces of the Anahuac Southern Army and has taken part of the colony's capital city. The quickness of this success was unexpected, but welcome to Theoden Masterson, Third Marshal of the Mark. "The Legion Kondor has done its share of the heavy fighting, and was the unit that punched into the capital on Monday morning."

December 12, 1899

With the surpression of the Anahuac Caribbean Navy, Goldwine, Battleship of the Mark, will head back to Mithlond via Vinyamar. She is no longer as needed in the Eastern Fleet and will be of much better use should the Anahuac Pacific Fleet ever come out to engage the Rohirrim in direct combat. She'll likely shell Anahuac positions on their Western Coast and then rejoin the Northern Fleet as Flagship.

(It is a long way around South America. This trip will take at least 66 days with stops for coal.)

Sadly this paper has to report that not all news from New Beleriand is happy. Lothiriel, Destroyer of the Mark was shelled and sunk my land based artillery as she came in to support the Army of Rohan near (Puerto Quepos). The Army was taking the port city but needed support against some of the harbor defenses. Other Rohirrim Naval forces were also involved, but the Lothiriel did not survive. Her crew will be remembered in song.

Fellowship Day

It was only a year ago that Rohan celebrated Fellowship Day in growing fear and un certainty as the Flames of War began to reach over the horizon. But now, a year later, we look forward to victory. The Army of Rohan holds much of the Enemies southern colony, and the Armies of Gondor have pierced deeply into the enemies nation, taking much of Central America on the Caribbean coastline and have cut off much of the Pacific Coast from the more Northern parts of the Nation. Denethor Cotton, Marshal of Gondor, states that he believes his forces can make their way to Tenochtitlan in six months. Others think that he will spread his supply lines out too far in he attempts to spear the Enemy in his lair. We as home can only hope that the war will be ended by next Fellowship Day.

December 28, 1899

Theoden Masterson, Third Marshal of the Mark reports victory in the south. "The Southern Saruman's Armies have fallen before the Army of Rohan and the Hammer of the Condor." The Army of Rohan still has found heavy pockets of resistance, especially towards the southern border with Gran Columbia. Again, the Southern Colony has fallen to Rohan.

Teton, Cruiser of the Mark returned to Mithlond on Friday after nearly a month patrolling the French owned Clipperton Island. Aside from the initial engagement with Narmacil present, nothing can be reported about any activity sown there.

November 16, 1899

Thengle, Battleship of the Mark has returned to New Beleriand with little to report on Clipperton Island. The only instance of any ships at all visiting the island was a United Kingdom of America freighter that arrived two days before Thengel left on Sunday. Thengel's captain, Narm Underhill, had some words with the new arrival's captain about this being French territory and the dangers of wondering around the Western Central American coastline. However after a brief exchange, Captain Underhill allowed the American freighter to go about its business. Thengel left two days later, three days earlier than expected.

November 18, 1899

The Marshals of the Seas have agreed that Rohan will no longer actively patrol Clipperton Island. This news after the Marshals received a letter from narm Underhill, Captian of Thengle, Battleship of the Mark. Considering the lack of activity out there, and the relative lack of land to support any operations on the island, Rohan will leave that land alone. They will send a vessel out once or twice a month the patrol that area of sea for raiders and Anahuac naval units, but rarely will they actually go to the island.

New news above:

Rohan's casualities in this new offensive will be discovered next quarter.

Note that no New Swiss vessels came to Clipperton Island while Thengel was present.

Fellowship Day

"The Nine Travelers set forth from Rivendel." We not actually Rivendel, but from Mithlond this day as is traditional ever 13 years since the original party. And while it does not follow the old route through old Rohan and Gondor to Mordor, it does send the Fellowship across the world so that Rohan might get a grasp of what is happening around the world and map the current political borders. From Mithlond they plan to head east away from the war zone and then to Europe, then south into Africa, and across the Indian Ocean to Asia and the Middle East. from there they will head to Australia and see how things are shaping up there and with our Moari friends. The Finally the Fellowship will head back to South America and up back to Rohan. The trip could take quite some time, and generally does, but the results are good information for the King. The names of the Nine have yet to be released.
