Diplomatic officials from the embassies of New Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Siam have been observed to be making extensive visits to the Foreign Ministry offices. Could an alliance be in the offing?

23 October
The panzerkreuzer Fürst Bismarck arrived in Brandenburg yesterday, and her appearance proves the rumours that she was engaged in some sort of fight late last month...

25 October
What happened to Fürst Bismarck? Reportedly the ship was engaged by an "unknown vessel" at dawn on 28 September while in a thin patch of fog. Reportedly the other vessel was never identified with any confidence, other than "carring a large number of light, fast-firing guns" that appear to have made quite a mess of the kreuzer's superstructure. It is reported that Fürst Bismarck returned fire with her main battery, scoring at least two hits on the 'enemy' ship, which fled.

The Admiralstab and the Foreign Ministry have declined comment on who the other ship involved may have belonged to...

The assilant of Fürst Bismarck has been provisionally identified as the Anahuac "Armoured Barque" No. 30. At the same time the Foreign Ministry released a statement from the emperor of the heathen Anahuac Empire in which he demands reparations! The Kaiser has issused a personal statement to the Reichstag stating that he has rejected this demand.

To the Anahuac: we do not wish war. But if you wish to sow the wind, be prepared to reap the whirlwind!

There has been a flurry of diplomatic activity over the past few days. Can war with the Anahuac be avoided?

While the "deadline" has come and gone, furious diplomacy (which continues) appears to have headed off war with the Anahuac Empire...for now.

It is reported that New Switzerland has been granted authorisation for their ships to utilise DKB ports for fueling and provisioning. State Secretary for Foreign Affairs von Bülow declined to comment on the matter...

In its final session before the holidays, the Reichstag approved the Kreigsmarine's new Five Year Construction Plan yesterday.

The Admiralstab released the following details of the construction schedule for 'captial ships':

1900
Panzerkreuzer Ersatz Greif

1901
Panzerkreuzer Ersatz Kaiserin Agusta

1902
No capital ships

1903
Battleship Ersatz Siegfreid

1904

In addition, up to two kleiner kreuzers and four GTB may be laid down per year, depending on funding priorities.

The midnight oil is being burned in the Foreign Ministry, with the ambassadors from New Switzerland and the Netherlands in near-constant attendance. Perhaps the long-rumoured 'Alliance of Three' is nearing frutation?

An odd occurance in the Persian Gulf on Christmas Day? Fishermen report sighting an unusual cloud of greenish fog while returning to port yesterday; after it dissipated, no obvious cause of the phenomnon could be found.
