The Caliph Speaks

 The military research vessel Fanjidar is heading from what the barbarians call Western Australia to Acapulco, to refuel, and thence to participate in a joint scientific mission with the French Republic in the body of water adjacent to Clipperton Island.

We hope that our vessel, which, though primarily a vessel of research, is still relatively well armed, is not trifled with by the warships of those powers who would shame themselves by not following the laws of the sea. We are confident that Fanjidar will deal with them severely.

Rohan acknowledges the presence of the Caliphate vessel, and will not fire upon it unless fired upon. Rohan does warn the Caliphate that they will be entering a war zone, and should take steps to avoid getting between the two waring parties. Rohan admits that they have had little contact with those of the faith of Islam for several centuries. Ever since the Europeans took the spice islands and opened up trade routes in the Pacific.
