The passenger ship 'Princess of Orange' registered to the Netherlands East Indies Company arrived in Australia at the small port of Ceduna. The delay was caused when the ship's rudder suffered damage form unknown reasons. The sloop HMS Hainaut ,which was escorting the Princess provided repair parties to correct the problem. It is reported that the ship received a friendly welcome from the French residents who stated it was the first ship to arrive in the port in over a year, apart from the survey ship HMS

How long the HMS Hainaut will remain in South Australia has not been determined. Ships captian Commander Pieter Theus de Reux said "It all depends on the Caliph"

The Vicerory announced today that a leader of the raiders was captured 2 days ago in raid. His namehas not been released. It was reported that he attempted suicide to avoid capture but his gun mis-fired. He is being transported to Stanleyville for interrogation.
