A new trade treaty will be signed today in San Francisco, California between the Kingdom of Rohan and the United States of New Switzerland. It is hoped that this treaty will put to rest the issue of the sovereignty of California, leaving that place independent while also ensuring relations across the Pacific remain amicable in light of the War with the Southern Saruman.

Reserve units in New Beleriand have mustered in what sure be a joyous march through the central Anahuac lands to sack their retched capital before heading back home. Most people say this war will last no more than six months, a year at the longest if the hurricans are bad this year. When asked about this the king replied, "Never be too quick to judge the enemy, should you tempt the Enemy of Man to bring forth the hoards of old". Some say the king is getting pessimistic with age.

Reports of Blackfeet wandering into nothern territories of the United Kingdom of America have again filtered back to the government. The King has said time and again, that while Rohan will defend the Blackfeet, it cannot control their movements. "They follow the herds on their lands, and if the Kingdom of America can't deal with it after all these years, they really need to go back to Europe," says Professor Red Cloud of Osgiliath University.

The Red Day

The traditional reenactment of the Battle of Pelennor Fields was darkened today by the news of the loss of the Combat Cruiser Valandil. It appears that several days ago it engaged a large number of Anahuac warships in the Caribbean Sea, sinking many of them, before surrendering to the waves.

March 24, 1899

The Marshals of the Seas and the Naval Design Board have decided to get the Battleship Elfwine and the Combat Cruiser Narmacil into the sea as quickly as possible. While the fleet is not in danger of loosing to the Southern Saruman, the need to hunt down raiders will surely continue to grow, and might continue even after the war ends. Elfwine will be stationed in Rohan as planned, but Narmacil will head to New Beleriand and "hunt some orc", as some of the young sailors say these days.

Plans to scrap several of the newly acquired Confederate cruisers have be put forth so that materials will be avalible when the ships currently in service come home after besting the Anahuac raiders. Also materials have been requested for a possible repeat of the Orodruin design in the coming year.
