Senate of Rome Chides Reformist Republic of China Government for Hierocracy.

Editorial staff here at the Rome Times have been able to acquire a copy of a diplomatic note from the Italia Foreign Office to the Government of the RRC.  In the Note [Re-Printed Below] the Senate has taken a firm stance on statements made about the Italia government by the RRC government after the Empire declared war on New Zion for its attacks on Government Official of the Empire, Iberia, and Habsburg.   An anonymous source close to the Senate states that several Senators in there discussion even went so far as to accuse the Government of the RRC as operating like a bunch of border bandits for their demands of huge amounts of compensation and large parts of Burma as the cost of ending the war.

Reprinted Foreign Office Communiqué between the Empire and the RRC

Quote
To: Yugong; Chinese Foreign Minister
From: Publius Rufus; Italia Consul of Foreign Affairs

Sir,

I reply to your message concerning the Reformist Republic of China's request that we remain neutral in the coming conflict between the RRC and the Kingdom of Burma.   I have taken your request to the Senate in light of recent events and I now forward to you the reply from the Senate of Rome.

The Empire of Italia will maintain the strictest neutrality in this war between the RRC and the Kingdom of Burma.  As an example of this neutrality we will be guided by the conduct of the RRC during the Empires recent conflict with the Kingdom of New Zion! In addition the Empire finds the actions of the Government of the RRC to be grossly hypocritical.  On one hand you chide the Empire for attacking a smaller country and then you decide to attack Burma with the other.

As for your accusations of attacks on your troops we patiently await the evidence of your accusations.  Until such time as the Senate is provide such evidence we will continue with business as usual and will take any attempt to interfere with Imperial shipping in the region in an appropriate manner.

Sir,

Your balant disrespect for the Republic of China and its citizens have been duly noted. I understand your stance completely. It would seem you do not know what you are putting your nation at risk for. Business is business, the Republic of China will not interfere with Imperial shipping but it can not vouch for what other nations will do to Italia. You have been warned.

OOC: How would you know what the Republic of China demanded from Burma? To telegrams were not spread. Miketr was just showing how things were going along.

Walter

OOC: No doubt the telegrams were intercepted by the ones you got the Secret Service/Intelligence tech from. :D

OOC: Bastard Japanese, I knew I had to get rid of you one day. >:( Get out of Manchuria! (And Taiwan and Hainan!) Adds a new folder to 'war plans' directory

Or I simply have another way of knowing what is going on like asking the Iberians whats going on?????  I know its a simple way of finding out whats going on in the world but usually its just as effective and much cheaper then Walter much more sophisticated and interesting way of doing the same thing.

The Rock Doctor

20 July 1916:  Rangoon

"The refugees are getting restless", Richard Dionne, the local Green Cross director, said as the motorcade slowly pushed its way through the streets of the Burmese capital.

"I can understand that", Rear-Admiral Ramsey replied.  "We've essentially taken them from frying pan to fire.  I've sent word back to my headquarters and am told that additional ships are coming to help move them out of the camps as soon as possible."

"That's good, but it will take some time", Dionne remarked.  "Is anybody trying for a diplomatic resolution to this?  It makes more sense to prevent a war than avoid one."

"I believe the Iberians are attempting to work something out; my own government appears to be distracted somewhat by issues in Mesoamerica."

"Another crisis in the making", Dionne sighed.  "This world is-", he began to add, and was interrupted by a series of louding popping noises and a splash of blood and tissue erupting from his left shoulder.  Ramsey grabbed him by the right shoulder and yanked him down.

A moment later, the local driver uttered a sound like, "glrk!", and the car veered right.  Several small impacts shook the car, then a barrage of planking, timbers, and food fell on Ramsey and Dionne as the car lurched to a stop.

Ramsey lay still for several seconds, weighed down by debris, able to listen to the screaming around him but unable to move.  Dionne stirred and exclaimed, "I'm shot!"

"Yes - stay down", Ramsey muttered, then repeated the order more loudly.

"I'm shot!", Dionne repeated.

Ramsey could hear shouting in Norman now, and then rifles cracked several times.  The screaming renewed as footsteps pounded closer to the car.

"Admiral?  Sir?", a gruff voice called from the driver's side of the car.

"Here", Ramsey called back.  "Under the debris.  Check the driver."

"Driver's dead, Sir.  Are you okay?"

"I'm not shot, Marine", Ramsey replied.  "Don't know about the rest yet - are we secure?"

"Aye, sir, we've shot the bugger.  Looks like a local."  There was a pause, then the marine - a sergeant, as Ramsey recalled - added, "Police are on the way, Sir.  C'mon, lads, get that crap off the admiral so he can do all the explaining."

Walter

Sounds like it is no longer safe in Burma. Should it be deemed necessary, it is possible to evacuate the refugees to Japan, well out of harm's way.

The Habsburg Gov't announced that it is gifting half a million gas masks to Burma. Shipments will begin immediatelly.
In a related press release, the Habsburg Kaiser-und-Koenigreich revealed that all elements of the 2nd AFL not yet in Bengal have been diverted to Burma. This Corps - depeleted after fighting in Bengal, will go to the Hermit Kongdom for rest and rebuilding. Ships freed from war material and troops will be available to take willing refugees from Burma to Parana.
The above steps are beleived to have been agreed with the Royal Burmese Gov't.

Your deal with the Burmese have been duly noted. Unless you plan to fight Chinese troops we have no qualms about your decisions.

Official Statement From The Republic of China

Despite attempts peace talks by the Iberians, it seems that every Westerner is intent on supplying the Burmese with weapons of war, as if to arm the Burmese to conquer the Republic of China! As a sovereign nation, the Republic of China will no longer stand by and watch Burma grow stronger and stronger, fueled by the selfish interests of foreign nations. Thus, all peace talks are off. The war will resume in full scale, the Republic of China will not rest until Asia is secure from the greedy Westerners. It will be a tireless job but a job that we owe to the people of Asia from the Westerners who are scheming to tear Burma apart into mini-colonies to provide benefits for their own people at the expense of the natives in the form of taxes, blood, tears, and degradation. The Republic of China hereby declares war on the Burma for the protection, safety, and benefit of the Burmese people. The people's army will march on to protect Burma from foreign devils, to improve the life of the poor, and to bring technological wonders to the Burmese.

For the quick and peaceful resolution of a conflict who's ending has already been determined, the Republic of China offers Burma peace on the condition that it joins the Republic of China has a special province, it is allowed to retain some degree of autonomy, so as to produce a two government, one nation effect that would no doubt benefit the Burmese. The government can choose to peacefully accept its fate, or be shown it through on the blood and tears of its citizens.

The Republic of China reaches out its hand of peace to the numerous poor in Burma as well. You, the poor, will be the ones to suffer from a war. You will be the army that will fight hopeless battle after battle against the Republic of China, a futile resistance. If you deem this unsatisfactory you can rise up in revolt against your selfish government, you are the ones who have the most to gain by the gentle hand of the Republic of China. No longer will you be the poor, mistreated, and unwanted lower class. In the Republic of China you will no longer have to tolerance the cruel injustices of the noblemen, in the Republic of China all have equal rights, all have equal opportunities. You are not stuck in your class. You have basic rights, that no one can take away, the right to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and the right to free enterprise. Under the Republic of China's rule, no longer will the poor have to suffer the brunt of an economic depression while the royal family dines and lives in lavish expensive luxury. No longer will the the citizens of Burma have to watch as the national reserves are spend on trivial luxuries.

No, our president was a salt maker's son, born and raised in poverty. He made himself into something, the leader of the Republic of China, starting off with no more than the common man. Even at his position as President he has not forgotten his roots. Who do you believe will treat you, the poor, better? The prince and royal families raised and bathed in indulgence, corruption and decadence? Or the poor man who, through the hardened learning of life, used his wits, humor, intelligence, morals, and roots to earn his well-deserved position.

Do you stand behind a man who simply inherited his title and did nothing to earn it? Do you stand behind a man who feigns care and empathy, but does little to help his people?

Or do you stand behind a man of your own kind, who worked tirelessly for the betterment of his people and nation? Do you stand behind a man who rebelled against his government because of its humanitarian injustices knowing fully well he could die for it?

Join the Republic of China where the people are the power, not a corrupt and pompous king. Join the Republic of China for the betterment of your life. Choose a change for the good rather than the bad. The nation's decisions are decided by YOU the people. You can go to gain political, civil, and economic rights or you can choose to remain by the incompetent king and wait until the Westerners carve Burma up between themselves, taking advantage of you, using you as a slave workforce! Make the right decision! Make the decision for improvement, not decline!
