The Admiralstab today "cleaned house" in the Kriegsmarine's Research & Development department. Reportedly work on new torpedoes was "not progressing satisfactorily" and the former researchers have been sent to dig ditches in our new territories in Australia.

15 August

Work continues in the new, as-yet-unnamed territories of the Reich on the continent of Australia. So far relations with the natives have remained friendly, and construction of a capital city, to be named Danzig, is underway.

Statement of the Chancellor to the Reichstag, 29 September 1898:

"While we do not normally concern ourselves with events on the continent of America, the actions of the Anahuac Empire over the past year have spoken for themselves. We hereby condemn the actions of the Anahuac Empire and call on them to withdraw from their belligerent stance, and open diplomatic dialogue with the Kingdom of Rohan.

In addition, we would like to inform the Kingdom of Rohan that if they require any assistance against the barbarous Aztecs, they have only to ask.

That is all."
