Before I forget... I'm off to my London holiday tomorrow (Tuesday 4/21 for those keeping track). I'll be back in Atlanta the following Tuesday (4/28).

I may check in sporadically, but I doubt I'll be bored enough to spend a lot of time in the Nverse. :)

Possibly more importantly I don't expect to respond to PMs promptly while I'm gone, nor will I be on MSN (sorry).

So for that time, seek Maddox or The Rock Doctor for all your moderating needs.

Other than drinking way too much on an empty stomach last night and the attendant consequences of that decision, we had a great time.

- Did spend nearly the whole first day at the Tower of London including Yeoman Warder tour, which I had never taken the time to do before.

- Did also manage to drag my better half aboard HMS Belfast, which is still excellent. I haven't been on a museum ship with the kind of access you can get aboard Belfast.

- Did manage to go back to the Southwark Imperial War Museum.

- Did *not* manage to take the train to Portsmouth. There was so much stuff that we both wanted to see together that cooling my heels on a train for 3 hours total didn't seem worth it. Something for another trip I guess.

- The trip's highlight: Romeo and Juliet at the Globe Theater at sunset after spending a glorious (21 degrees Celsius and Sunny) day at Hampton Court Palace. It was a merry day of Tudor full-immersion.

And finally:

- Did manage to get caught in a Tube breakdown trying to get to Heathrow this morning, but did also manage to navigate the alternate route to Paddington Station and catch the train there just in time to catch the flight. That train has got to be the most expensive ticket for miles travelled anywhere on earth...

So, anyway, there are tons and tons of pictures, many of them of decidedly military composure, but I'm too tired for the task of uploading them, etc. tonight. Maybe tomorrow.
