Why, you were planning to invade Siam through... Yunnan? Looking at the 1954 topographic maps at the UTexas Map collection, it is well over 1500m elevation and had like three dirt roads within 50km of the OTL China-Laos border.

Of course I wasn't going to invade, I would never invade anyone. ;)

And if I were planning to invade, terrain wouldn't stop me. I would just make some 'adjustments'

I'd won't count on the Middle Kingdom cooperating with such (of course non-existent ;)) war plans by doing nothing. And three or four Siamese corps facing you with better logistics (rivers).
Logistical difficulties would make your numerical superiority irrelevant. Of course, you could start building about 2000km of railroads, that would take about 4 years or so considering the terrain.

BR, while we'd be happy to have you playing, don't feel obliged to rush in. You may need to catch up on sim rules and recent history.

Siam will still be around in a week or two, ambitious Chinese neighbours notwithstanding...

No worries Rocky. I've got a lot to catch up on, and I'll see what's available or not when I'm ready.

Siam is tempting in large part because I could reuse some of my Wesworld stuff. But South America would let me cause havoc for GC's plans...decisions, decisions... :D
