Or his desserts are small,
Who dares not put it to the touch,
To win or lose it all!"

84 000 tons isn't that much for the BP's of Glorious France, but it will take 7 years and 9 month to finish.

It omits the glaciers, but still is a good illustration of what the world looked like then.
BTW - the Bad el-Mandeb does exist, as it is 135 metres deep - but too small to show up that map.
Also, I believe that there was a river flowing out of the Black Sea into the Aegan. Plus a couple of Belgium or Hungary sized lakes in the Sahara ...

A larger copy, if anybody's interested:

I'd been intending to suggest that Navalism IV take place in the Jurassic, actually. ^_^

But what would we use to build the dinosaurs? Would we have "Breeding Facilites" instead?

Somehow I think P3D is going to reincarnate and get all mad at us...  :D

Valles

You're silly.

The other option I'd considered was a terraformed Venus, so. Just... someplace more interesting than Earth, but not requiring torturous weirdness and alterations.

I was actually thinking of a world set in the 1890's where Russia had couquered Germany, and France was like in this timeline, sorta a repeat of Nverse II, but more defined toward Russia.

The Rock Doctor

David Drake put out a couple of novels in the '90s centred on a terraformed Venus.  Everybody lived in submarine habitats, because the surface was uninhabitable (mutated flora and fauna - extremely violent) and staged battles of mercenery fleets were used to decide conflicts.  Always thought that'd be a neat sim premise.
