Bergius process

Historically, the Bergius process to derive synthetic oil from coal was developed in 1913 by a Silesian, Friedrich Bergius. Historically, he built a plant in Berlin. Here, I'd rather encourage him to build it on Bavarian soil as it seems a desirable thing to have.

Also, the Haber-Bosch process, developed in Karlsruhe, to create synthetic ammonia would be quite useful in wartime to allow domestic production of explosives.

I was thinking of allocating part of the Bavarian 1914 budget as seed money for these things, but I don't know
1. If it's even needed
2. How much $ would be reasonable and would it be a one-time shot, or ongoing as infrastructure
3. military or civilian budget.

I know I should be paying attention to the threads about what's in Bavaria and what is isn't...but...is Silesia in Bavaria?  If not, you will need to chat with its owner.

I think it's okay for Bergius' owner to develop the process at a near-historical base without any specific cash spent on it.  If you did want to characterize IC investment as being for this purpose, great - it adds a little flavor to your sim report.

There have been a number of Silesias :)

The former Prussian Province of Silesia is the easternmost extension of Bavaria.

Bergius was born near the capital, Breslau, went to school in Breslau, Liepzig (Saxony), worked in Karlsruhe on the Haber-Bosch process, and then went off to Hanover- that part gets dropped as that is ESC.

It should take years to develop, but it's worth the funding.
