Hello All,

Any suggestions for how big of a fleet for Ottomans to put in places like the red sea and persian gulf?

I am thinking a combination of gun boats with older TB's and maybe a an old PC to act as station flag ship for both.  The bulk of the Ottoman Fleet to be in the Med / Black Sea.  Because of the Bospherous the Ottomans can put their fleet in either location at need with little effort.

Sounds reasonable, and with there sights set on Iberia now I would expect all the heavies to be in the Med.

Yup - I agree.
Anything which would make an impression on the Sheik (Emir?) of Bahrain in the Persian Gulf (2000 tonnes PC?), and a like force in the Red Sea.

Theres an older Ottoman OOB lying around. It can give you an idea.

Thanks for the heads up...  janes and the link have the new one...  anyone let me know what they think?  I tried to use the old OOB as a model but I still think there is a little too much tonage in the red sea and gulf.  I would pull the TBs and the newer four PC's but having them there does make some sense.

That tonnage in the Red Sea and Gulf could be put to good use. The Iberians have long SLOC to the Phillipines which could be cut.
